We were in Iceland for the first time and did several guided tours. Our guide Christopher was absolutely fantastic. He was knowledgeable, funny and kept us entertained on the long drives between stops. Christopher was great at communicating about safety and kept us informed when we returned to the bus after a quick rest stop to see the hood up. It was just a light bulb that needed to be replaced but he didn't want us to worry something was wrong and it was fixed almost immediately before we headed out again. The parts of the trip that were with Chirstopher/Arcrtic Adventures were fantastic and based on that alone I would have rated 5/5. But they contract out the actual tour of the Ice Cave and unfortunately our guide did not explain anything to us about the cave. The ice cave was spectacular but would have loved to have Christopher as our guide for that part too. Thank you Christopher for such a memorable tour!We were pickup up on time by our super nice and professional driver and guide for the day Christopher. We were pickup up on time by our super nice and professional driver and guide for the day Christopher. It was a super trip to the south, and Christopher told us relevant and funny facts about Iceland and the Icelanders. He was very thorough and emphasized the importance of safety. The busses could need an upgrade when traveling for that long, but we survived. Our main destination for this excursion was the Ice caves in Vik, where we were transferred to super jeeps to take us the rest of way to the caves. This was on the contrary a horrible experience with Southcoast Adventure, who I will review directly. The guides & drivers were brilliant, knowledgeable, professional but also fun. The caves are amazing, so special sight to get that close to something so beautiful. We are already planning a trip back next year to see how the caves have changed, if you do one trip in iceland, do this one!

My friends and I loved the adventure including our knowledgeable and enthusiastic tour guides. Þott (Thott?) was our first tour guide who took us to different waterfalls. He was very approachable. It was off season and he gave us extra personal tours when we were early on schedule. He dropped us off at Vik to meet up with the ice cave tour guide nicknamed Hawk. He was super passionate and fun. He explained the geology and history of the area and everyone’s questions. I don’t want to describe in details to spoil the experience so I will be brief. The ice cave tour itself wasn’t hard even for amateur hikers. I’m out of shape from traveling for the past 3.5 weeks and indulging all the amazing food. We did about 10-15 mins small glacier hikes before reaching the cave. It was challenging but not tiring due to the moist and occasionally soft ground. The ice cave wasn’t very big but enough to feel the thrill. We walked around for a bit after we hiked down and saw other beautiful parts of the glaciers. They were cherry on top! My friends (two guys) and I really enjoyed the whole experience. I wish I booked another tour with them (Arctic Adventures) before going home because we had such a great time with them. But there’s always next time!!Another great day with Arctic Adventures having used them in the past. Another great day with Arctic Adventures having used them in the past. From our very informative guide/driver for the trip from Reykjavik to Vik to our guide on the Katla Ice Cave tour itself. The sites were breath taking especially in the Katla area and the floodplains. Absolutely no complaints from us. I will note that the Ice Cave visited on this tour is nothing like the ice caves over at Vatnajokull. This ice cave is significantly smaller but that should not put you off this tour as the cave is beautiful and sits in an area where there is a frozen waterfall and an ice tunnel (which you get to walk through). This is a different experience from the other ice caves tours but is genuinely worth it for the ice cave other sites on the glacial outlet. Bear in mind that this area is constantly evolving with varying temperatures so what will be on offer in the next season could be totally different to now. Nethertheless, a fantastic tour and great day out.I would love to be able to say we had a great time, but the tour group forgot to pick us up and we were left at the hotel, so we never went. We did get a refund, but that isn't the point.
