Brandon and Alex were the best guides we've had on the island. They were professional, patient and knowledgeable, made sure we were all aware of the necessary guidelines before hitting the water. During snorkelling we never felt rushed, and even got drinks and snack after we done. On the way home we even went out of ways to check out some marine life as well as some history of the island. Great value for your money; well worth it, I cannot recommend them enough! We had a great trip! It was a nice surprise that they offered goggles with corrective lenses that I could use. We had a great trip! It was a nice surprise that they offered goggles with corrective lenses that I could use. I was able to see clearly because of it. Captain Lauren did a great job getting us out to the reef in front of the captain cook monument, and was very knowledgeable about the coastline and made many stops along the way back to show us. We saw many beautiful reef fish and had plenty of time to spend on the reef. They provided us with noodles that made it comfortable to snorkel for a long time. They also provided snacks after the snorkeling. We got to see a rare monk seal on the way back along the coast. Would highly recommend this trip!It was Awesome!! Our guides, Skylar and Alex were friendly and informative, trip was a perfect amount of hours and people per tour. A must do in Kailua-kona!!!

Our family of 5 took the 3 hour afternoon snorkeling trip to Kealakekua Bay, which is a protected marine area. We got off to a great start when we arrived at check-in. SeaQuest provided 3 masks with different lens corrections (-4, -6, and -7). If you don’t have contact lenses and cannot see without glasses, these special masks were amazing! We were able to clearly see fish, corral, and other sea creatures under the water. What a game changer! Our family had Captain Lauren to ourselves. We had a pleasant 20 minute boat ride to the snorkeling area, spent about 60-70 minutes looking at brightly colored fish, and then a leisurely 45 minute boat ride back along with snacks. Speaking of snorkeling gear, along with the special masks, they provided floating noodles, fins, and breathing tubes with one-way valves (which kept the salt water out of our mouth). Along the way back, we stopped at sea caves and other coastline features and listened to Captain Lauren telling interesting local stories. It was a great afternoon and 3 hours was the perfect amount of time. We learned that your fingers get pretty chilly after 60+ minutes snorkeling. This was an amazing experience although I wasn’t prepared for the type of boat that we were on. I didn’t realize it would be a smaller speed boat type vessel with no bathroom or shade covering. It was a wonderful time nonetheless. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. This was an amazing experience although I wasn’t prepared for the type of boat that we were on. I didn’t realize it would be a smaller speed boat type vessel with no bathroom or shade covering. It was a wonderful time nonetheless. Our guide was knowledgeable and entertaining. But for my 72 yo mother in law, it was a bit much to have to hold on to a bar to avoid falling out for multiple hours. The snorkeling was spectacular and we saw dolphins and I loved the coastal tour portion on the way back. The Trip Advisor page for this tour indicated in the inclusions portion that viewing boards would be available and I think my son would have enjoyed using one of those. Just be aware that the things stated on Trip Advisor may not be accurate. It’s always best to contact the tour operator with questions before booking.Just a great experience overall. Just a great experience overall. Friendly, local, and professional, the experience was awesome from booking to arriving to the tour itself. Our Captain, Jill, was great, took time to chat and talk to everyone about the area, the seas, the history - and just made everyone super comfortable. The snorkeling location was amazing (peppered with history about the Cook Monument) and equipment was clean, in great state and worked well. Would do this tour - and work with Sea Quest - again anytime we are on the big Island.
