I was in Cambodia over the long weekend with my mom for holiday and decided to book a half day tour to see the floating village and how the locals there live. Chenda was an amazing guide - he speaks great English and is very knowledgeable on the history of the country and places we visited. We met many locals and even went up to one of their houses on stilts. Although it was the Low tide season we got to take a boat and learn about the locals’ lives during Low and high tide seasons. we also managed to catch a beautiful sunset at a floating restaurant and had dinner together afterwards. Would recommend for anyone who wants to understand Cambodia culture !Our guide Chenda was excellent - highly recommended. The kids really enjoyed walking through the village and meeting local children. Sunset from the floating restaurant was nice, despite the clouds - I imagine this is amazing on a clear day. Maybe a little too long at the floating restaurant.

Amazing day tour to Kampong Phluk. Chenda the tour guide was super helpful along the way, had many stories about ancient and modern history of Cambodia, some based on his personal experience. On this tour, we got to see something really unique. We visited in the dry season, so we were able to see just how tall these incredible houses are. Driving through the village on the boat, we were able to see many different views of the homes and also the people working and fishing in the lake. Our tour guide , Chanda, was so personable and shared many stories with us, as well as answers all of our many questions. And when we asked through the village, you really got to see the kind of community that exists here. There was so many children playing and laughing. It was a wonderful time.Chenda our tour guide was super helpful with his knowledge of the history of Cambodia. Very Helpful and kind when answering our questions. Chenda our tour guide was super helpful with his knowledge of the history of Cambodia. Very Helpful and kind when answering our questions. He also gave his own personal experience during the khmer rouge times and the civil war that followed. The tour was really interesting. We got to learn a lot about the residents that rely on the lake and how they purify water for daily uses. 10/10 would recommend again.Kampong Phluk should be in your list if you are visiting Siem Reap. Kampong Phluk should be in your list if you are visiting Siem Reap. I would say Ta Phrom, Kpg Phluk and Angkor Wat are must to have here. Life in this village is so different from the life in developed parts. Don’t take fridge, or even electricity granted. People here don’t have these, but also they don’t have doors or fences. They are living happily, friendly all together. There was not even 1 single child who didn’t welcome us. It was an astonishing experience. Thanks for our knowledgeable guide who shared all their stories and make us understand better. We also had a dinner in the middle of lake and the ambience was really peaceful, although food was not the best of best. Still I recommend to eat and drink there. Cheers!
