Our Lady of Tarac on the island of Kornat is a one-nave late Romanesque church built on an early Christian basilica site, most probably from that older church's remains. Once a year, on the first Sunday in July, masses are held here. Then hundreds of boat anchors in the bay for blessing, which, in addition to religious significance, also is a tourist attraction.
Once upon a time, the feast was only agricultural, and only the field was blessed. As the farmers gradually turned to the sea and fishing, the blessing spread to the sea and ships.

On a tour of the Kornati, you will see Tureta, the best preserved of the Byzantine fortifications from the 6th century, the time of Justinian, built to protect and control navigation on the Adriatic Sea. Her military crew monitored the Kornati Channel.

I had expected some spectacular views from Kornati NP. But in fact we saw a series of barren islands with here and there a small Port or a couple of houses (seen from the distance). Some variation to this monotonous trip was stopping at the destination, Telascica Nature Park, for more than two and half hours. There we could walk around, swim in a (slightly) salty lake, swim in the Adriatic, and/or buy a drink. But, we could have done all this at any other beach. We didn't need to stay on a boat for over five hours, nless you like sailing on a boat. The lunch they gave us on the boat was less than average (a dry and tough piece of chicken with shredded cabbage!). There were a few announcements during tge trip about what we were seeing, but nothing really exciting. All of this for about 55 Euro per person was not worth our time and money. 100 characters minimum Give it a title Kornati National Park Tour not worth it.We had a great, nice day on that boat and we had opportunity to hike and swim in the salty lake and the beautiful crystal clear sea (which was the highlight of the day!). Personnel on the boat was very nice. Would recommand!

Telascica -Salt Lake "MIr" is a quiet zone.

Good boat trip from Vodice marina, cruising past the islands and then a couple of hours free time on one of the islands. You can walk to the view point, swim in the salt lake or just swim in the beautiful water. This boat was more comfortable than the one to Krka as the seats were padded. There are nice areas to sit indoors or outside in shade or sun. There was a saxophone player on board which was fab. Saw a quick glimpse of a dolphin fin. We went all inclusive and had a different wrist band so had unlimited drinks including beer, wine , bottled water and soft drinks. It was more money but we negotiated a 10% discount as also booked the Krka trip through sane company (destina are pretty much the only operator from Vodice so whoever you book with it’s same company). We booked at one of their stands around the harbour. The all inclusive lunch was steak but we opted for chicken as I am funny about how steak is cooked. Lunch was large and tasty, wine and water included on the table. Only negative was they shut the bar while making lunch but way before lunch started so we were not able to get a drink to have with lunch ( when you’ve paid for all inclusive you want to be able to use it!). No notice they were closing the bar, should give ten mins notice so people can grab a quick drink if they are thirsty rather than having to wait an hour until lunch is done. Lunch is served quite early like 11.45. Toilets on board although by the end they were not the nicest… Overall it’s a good day trip. I would recommend asking about all inclusive as not all tour operators seem to tell you about this option. This is being marketed as a boat trip to a national park, with appealing marketing pictures. This is being marketed as a boat trip to a national park, with appealing marketing pictures. But in fact, it’s more like a floating party. The staff was attending and nice, but they started serving alcohol at 8.45 am, and a lot of people onboard got drunk and very unpleasant. We witnessed some guests threatening others, and we saw spilling of alcohol and people falling asleep during the trip because they were drunk. We travelled with children who did not enjoy this, and unless you’re looking for a party I would not recommend this trip. I think the fact that they offer “all inclusive” options with free bar indicates what the purpose of the trip really is. The scenery is lovely, but we couldn’t concentrate on that because of all the noise. Would not go again, did not font it worth the money.
