A very enjoyable and informative guided walking tour around Old Krakow led by the charming, and very knowledgeable, Magda. Starting off in the old town square Magda told us of the various legends surrounding the founding of Krakow and its subsequent history. If you visit the old square 'on the hour' you will hear the basilica bells chime and the the famous trumpet call of the city watchman. As we walked through the old city Magda brought the past to life as she talked about the various places that we visited. We ended the two and a half hour tour at the beautiful castle where we saw a 'real dragon rib bone' in the cathedral entrance. If you are really fortunate you can hear, and see, a 'real fire breathing dragon' below the castle walls on the banks of the river. (Do the tour if you don't believe me!) Well worth the time and effort for this free walking tour from Krakow Explorers. All the guides are volunteers, many are academics from the university, and I really do believe it is worth tipping them as much as you can afford. *(I originally added this review to another, paid, Krakow tour site by mistake This review is meant for Krakov Explorers)*We did both the Old Town and Wawel Castle + Jewish Quarter tour, and they were both great! We happened upon the Kazimierz walking tour run by Bartek on our first day in Krakow, and were drawn along to his enthusiasm and knowledge like the pied piper. We learnt an absolute tonne of knowledge and insight that we would not have gained without a guide. He also gave us a great recommendation of a restaurant for that evening which was brilliant. We felt so lucky that we had come across the tour! Two days later we did the full old town tour with “Matt” (cannot remember his full Polish name I’m afraid), which was also very enjoyable and informative. I would choose to do walking tours again in the future, and would highly recommend one conducted by this company, as they are excellent, enthusiastic and informative.Very informative tour delivered with warmth and humour by guide Matt, explores the main historical points in the city.
