Kyoto Arashiyama Rickshaw Tour with Bamboo Forest
Overview
The first stop after cruising through the bustling main street is the bamboo forest. Enjoy the vivid green bamboo as your guide pulls you along the path reserved for rickshaws only, away from other visitors. Have your camera or mobile phone ready to take pictures. You don’t want to miss this.
After passing by the Nonomiya Shrine you will enter the second part of the bamboo forest, which is designed like a little park. Here we can take great group pictures with the stunning green bamboo in the background. On the way to the third and last section of the bamboo forest, you will pass by a well-kept scene from the Edo period
The third part of the bamboo forest can only be accessed on foot, so our guide will park the rickshaw within walking distance and then guide you to the most famous and impressive part of the bamboo forest. (To avoid the crowds here, we recommend starting the tour before noon)

Let me start saying everyone I encountered that worked for Ebisuya rickshaw was so sweet and welcoming and as a foreigner I appreciated it. My driver was buchi-San, who was the nicest and sweetest person. I actually wanted to ride the rickshaw in a kimono so i changed from my western dress and i looked for buchi and I couldn’t find him so I asked his coworker where is was. He said they will call him for me, he was finishing another ride. His coworker wait with my upon his arrival. Which was only 6 minutes. I appreciate his conversations with me while I waited. Buchi-San arrived and we went in the rickshaw. He took amazing pictures and I’m very picky when it comes to pics. I helped him with his English and he helped me with my Japanese. He was great. I would recommend to anyone. It was frigid and raining in Kyoto, and a Rickshaw ride was the last thing we expected to participate in. Our driver Yuichi Yeskizawa was fantastic. He spoke good English, and has a wonderful sene of humor. (request him if you can!) The ride through the bamboo forest was dreamlike, and for a few minutes the rain stopped and the sun came out, facilitating beautiful pictures in the forest. A very enjoyable 30 minutes through a quaint neigborhood and beautiful forest! We took a 90min tour with Ka He, it was truly an amazing experience and we were treated with exceptional courtesy and he ensured we captured the moment by using his experience of photography and knowledge of the region. At first we weren’t going to torture some poor young man, having him tote us but Daisuke offered with confidence so we took him up on the offer. We did the short tour, just to the drop off point. He was great and took wonderful photos of us and with us.
