Laguna Lachua is a category one national park, also has a worldwide record for being a RAMSAR site due to the conservation of biological diversity in flora and fauna. The lagoon has a circular shape and is surrounded by a rainforest rainforest north of Cobán.
Candelaria Caves National Park is a subterranean system of rivers and caves, considered among the largest and most impressive in Central America. This region has great cultural and natural significance since it was a main pilgrimage site for the ancient Maya civilization and continues to shelter a lot of flora and fauna.

Day 1: Caves of Candelaria
Stop At: Candelaria Caves, Franja Transversal del Nte., Guatemala
DAY 1: 8:00 am departure from Cobán to Visit the caves of Candelaria; Candelaria Caves National Park is a subterranean system of rivers and caves, considered among the largest and most impressive in Latin America

Day 2: Laguna Lachua
Stop At: Parque Nacional Laguna Lachua, Carretera de la Franja Transversal del Norte, Chisec 16026 Guatemala
In day 2 we will visit Lachuá Lake; is a Karstic lake in Guatemala. It is located in the middle of a national park covered with tropical rain forest, northwest of Cobán, near the border between the departments of Alta Verapaz and El Quiché. The lake is near circular in shape and is probably a cenote or doline.
