We did the Landmarks and Lunch tour with Oscar on May 13. Oscar just started with Taste of San Miguel, but he was a wonderful guide and not only knew his facts and figures, but shared wonderful stories of SMA and the landmarks we visited. When we asked questions that Oscar did not know answers to, he researched the question in real time and gave us an answer when he could. Oscar also generously shared his own story and views as a Mexican citizen and someone who also has lived in the USA, so we were able to see things through different eyes and also have some great conversation. Lunch was very traditional and delicious at a quaint spot in Centro, which was fun since it was not the usual restaurant we would normally wander into. The only suggestion we would make to ToSMA is to have lunch in the middle of the tour as we were ravenous by the time we got to the restaurant. Overall, a wonderful experience and a great way to see and learn about major SMA landmarks.Tour as well as the guide were fantastic. I traveled solo and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon filled with history about SMA and delicious food. I recommend San Miguel Tours without reservation.

The first thing I do upon arrival in a new place is take a walking tour. Alma met me at one of the main squares in old town and then whisked me all over the historic center of SMA. There is nothing like seeing a place through the eyes of a local and Alma has lived her entire life in SMA and she has a love for her city and a passion to share. She is very keen on the arts, so am I, and asI was the only "tourist" on the tour we were able to really discuss the arts and culture in the city. Then we shared an incredible lunch! It was a very good tour and helped me orient myself, making it easier to navigate on my own.Victor was an amazing host. His passion and enthusiasm was contagious and made the whole day fun. Victor was an amazing host. His passion and enthusiasm was contagious and made the whole day fun. As a chef himself, he had deep knowledge about the food. But he also brought in local history and cultural insights that brought everything to life. This tour was a highlight of our amazing trip to San Miguel!Best value for trip-this was the cheapest I found and it also includes lunch! Alma was great, very patient and went with the pace and interest of the group. One needs more time in SMA than 1 day, but this provided a good introduction to this magical colonial town!
