By far the highlight of our trip to Shanghai. Lu brought us to a half dozen different local places, none of which we ever would have been able to find or experience on our own, not speaking Mandarin. Jian-bings to start. Ice cream. Spicy pork noodles. A beautiful experience in a tea house. Chinese bbq and finally some dessert. Lu really cared about our experience and was so helpful with our six year old daughter. Afterwards, we were even in touch so he could provide additional restaurant recommendations for the rest of our stay. I would highly, highly recommend this experience.Wonderful tour. Great taste of Shanghai food scene, made better by our fantastic guide Lu. He was knowledgeable and so helpful. Highly recommended!

Although I like to wander cities, I often do not like to do so at the later hours of the night. The tour was a extremely unique visit of the areas of Shanghai I would have never found on my own, or maybe even with help from local co-workers. Jim has such a great understanding of local history, especially as it pertains to not only the individual places that are visited, but also about the surrounding areas. Food was great, and Jim took the time to explain each dish and details about them. He explains so much more about the unique setup of each store and you get a much more in depth understanding of the vendors as oppose to just places that sell food.I’m glad I was able to get this last minute booking. It was excellent and well worth it. Our guide Jim is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We had different kinds of dumplings. Now I have my new favorite dumplings and they are the Shanghai dumplings. I’m glad I was able to get this last minute booking. It was excellent and well worth it. Our guide Jim is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. We had different kinds of dumplings. Now I have my new favorite dumplings and they are the Shanghai dumplings. I think we ate 7-8 types of local dishes and we also tried this pretty good craft beer (Flipping Mango Hazy IPA). Thank you for offering this excellent tour. I highly recommend it!The first of my two food tours with Jim and this one had a second guide in Jade, who was also great fun. The first of my two food tours with Jim and this one had a second guide in Jade, who was also great fun. They made me feel very welcome as the only solo traveller with a group of colleagues and ensured I was able to get back to my hotel from our destination without issue. The food on this particular tour was great and eye-opening in equal measure, and a few beers, IPAs and spirits later, it was an evening well spent
