Lemosho Route - 8 Days, Kilimanjaro
Overview
The route is one of the few where groups may be accompanied on the first day by an armed ranger, as the forests around the Lemosho Glades are inhabited by buffalo, elephant and other wildlife.
The minimum duration for the Lemosho route is 6 days, however, we strongly recommend hiking the route in 7 days. The additional 7th day will give your body more time to acclimatize, reducing the effects of altitude sickness and give you more time to rest before attempting the summit.

Once at Uhuru Peak you have reached the highest point on Mount Kilimanjaro and the continent of Africa!
From the summit we begin our descent by continuing straight down to the Mweka Camp, stopping at Barafu for lunch. You may want gaiters and trekking poles for the loose gravel going down. We arrive at Mweka Camp and enjoy our last evening on the mountain.

Day 7: Barafu Camp to Summit to Mweka Camp

Very early in the morning (midnight to 2 am), we continue our way to the summit between the Rebmann and Ratzel glaciers. At Stella Point, you will stop for a short rest and will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see. Faster hikers may view the sunrise from the summit.

The booking procedure was straight forward and there was always somebody on the other end of an email to answer any questions we had. Excellent guide (Zephaniah) with 20 years of Kilimanjaro experience. Great group of guide/assistant guide, cook, and porters. Staff was always helpful during the trek and thinking how to make it the best possible experience for us, including advice on timings or pushing us where needed. The group that supported us during the trek had a lot of fun/great atmosphere amongst themselves, which adds to the experience. Monkey has clear set of procedures to be applied by the staff (like twice daily health checks, briefing before and debrief after trek, etc, This ensures consistency. I truly enjoyed the food (too much food, but won't hold that against them :-)) We also did a safari with Monkey, that was equally good.I booked the 8-Day Lemosho Route trek for Kilimanjaro through Monkey Adventures. I booked the 8-Day Lemosho Route trek for Kilimanjaro through Monkey Adventures. I would like to say that the crews were fantastic and I had a great time in tanzania. This was my third time I climbed at the kilimanjaro mountain. My guide Gasper knew how to guide me with pace and all informations. The foods and services were great thanks the cook Simon. So I can recommend Monkey Adventure for a good time at the kilimanjaro and reching the summit at sunrise. What a fantastic experience we had with our group. What a fantastic experience we had with our group. Charles was our primary guide and Simon our assistant, but the whole team was focused on our comfort and success. My son and I took an 8 night and 9 day trip up the mountain. It was very challenging, we’re big guys and probably didn’t prepare as well as we should over the previous year. They insured we travelled in a way that we submitted and were always concerned about our enjoyment, safety, and health. The food was much better than expected -it was very good. Our accommodations pre and post hike were excellent. I highly recommend Monkey Adventures. I travel a lot internationally. This was one of the very best experiences I have ever had. It was more than fair cost wise as well. I hope to return with other family members for more adventures.First of all I would like to say that the crews were fantastic and I had a great time on the mountain. First of all I would like to say that the crews were fantastic and I had a great time on the mountain. This was the first time I climbed a mountain above 2000m and my guide ( Kajaji or what I like to call him Captain) knew exactly how to guide me with proper advices and encouragement. The foods and services were great thanks to chief Robert and Abuchee. The support crews ( Abraham, Ali and Robert) were amazing, they got things done on time every time. So I totally recommend Monkey Adventure and if your mind is set on reaching the summit, Find Captain. SimbaWow!! Roja and his whole team made my friend and I feel so loved and cared for. Wow!! Roja and his whole team made my friend and I feel so loved and cared for. They helped us every step of the way and were determined to get us both to the top. They showed so much patience and went out of their way with small gestures. Charles was amazing at helping us with everything at the camp. I appreciated all of the warm drinks and my warm water bottle to sleep with every night. If he ever saw us struggling he was always there to help. Roja and Selestine guided us every step of the way. They encouraged us to walk slow and take breaks but we're also able to push us to go even farther when we needed to. They made our summit very special. We ended up being the only ones at the top and we weren't freezing like everyone else. They just made the trip a ton of fun and unforgettable!! Their energy is truly contagious. Asante kutoka moyoni!
