What to expect
The activity starts at 2.30 pm, when we will meet in the city center, in via Santo Stefano 14, we will take you to the Bolognese hills 15 km from Bologna, and the activity will end at about 6 pm, after you will taste the dishes prepared until 7.30 pm, time when we will take you back to the city center.

Sample Menu
• tagliatelle al ragù - tipical dish of the Bolognese cuisine, pasta made from scratch, generally eaten with the ragù sauce, or tomato sauce or with the mushrooms.
• tortellini - home made pasta filled with meat, normally served with meat broth or with Parmigiano cream
• tortelloni - home made pasta bigger than the tortellini, filled wit ricotta cheese and parsley, or spinaches, or pumpink, or mortadella and ricotta.
• pinza bolognese - typical cake from the hills of Bologna, that you will prepare with three differents jams made from us, cinnamon and raisins
• raviole - typical biscuits from Bologna, filled with jams made from us
• torta della nonna - tipical cake from Bologna, with yellow cream, pine nuts, pastry
• tagliatelle - tipico piatto bolognese, pasta tirata al mattarello servita con il sugo al ragù o passata di pomodoro o funghi e panna
• tortellini - tipico primo bolognese, ripieno di carne, mortadella e noce moscata, serviti con brodo di carne o panna
• tortelloni - più grandi dei tortellini, ripieni di ricotta e prezzemolo, ricotta spinaci, o zucca, o mortadella, serviti con burro fuso e salvia
• pinza bolognese - crostata bolognese tipica delle colline con 3 tipi di marmellata differente, cannella e uvetta

We've taken many similar cooking classes in Italy, France, and Spain, and Flaminia and her family were so nice that we had high hopes. We were so disappointed by this. We've taken many similar cooking classes in Italy, France, and Spain, and Flaminia and her family were so nice that we had high hopes. Instead, we spent a long afternoon and evening (14:30 - 21:00) mostly on our feet with no place to really sit, making only two things -- tagliatelle and a filled cookie. That was it. And that's all we got to eat too. No sides, no appetizers, no main course, just a small plate of pasta with traditional ragu (and no seconds) and a cookie. There was one bottle of red wine and one bottle of sparkling white for 10 adults. The only other beverages we had were a small (sample sized) aperativo and coffee when we arrived. There was nothing to snack on -- not even famous bolognese mortadella or cheese! Anticipating a full, restaurant-sized meal with multiple courses, as well as snacking thoughout the lesson, we had eaten a very light lunch. We were so hungry that we went to a restaurant in town as soon as we got back and had some more food. The only reason we did not give this a one-star rating was because the two recipes we did make were superb and the property was so beautiful. Oh, and there are six dogs that were underfoot the whole time. Just be aware of that.A wonderful experience, learning to make tortellini, and dessert in an Italian home. The class is run by the chef and her daughter and the only thing better than the view from the garden are the people that run the school.

The lessons they taught were not just what to do but why you need to do it that way. Hearing the other guests’ stories really made it feel even more like a family evening in a beautiful house. Their home looked like somewhere from my dreams. This experience was truly amazing in every way imaginable! You must go to this tour!!
