Overview

In this exploration of Tito's Socialist Yugoslavia, which Slovenia was a part of, communist gems come to life, including typical architecture, Coca Cola's communist factories, socialist punk music and Luka Dončič's basketball predecessors. Comparing the Communist past and Capitalist present, the tour shows the influence of communism and workers’ self-management on today’s life in Slovenia. It showcases amazing examples of Yugo-nostalgia, cult of personality, brutalist architecture, the "spomenik" monuments, attitude towards religion, censorship and the secret police jail. Yugoslavia’s type of Communism was unique in the world, and this tour tries to do it justice.

There were six of us on a tour with Greg - and even the two teenagers in our group were totally thrilled! That's why we can only recommend this tour warmly: We went to places we would never have discovered without Greg and learned a lot about this wonderful city and its history. So book this tour!
