Karla Caves
The Karla Caves or Karle Caves or Karla Cells are a complex of ancient Indian Buddhist rock-cut cave shrines located in Karli near Lonavala, Maharashtra. The shrines were developed over the period – from the 2nd century BC to the 5th century AD.
Bhaja Caves
The caves are 400 feet above the village of Bhaja. The inscriptions and the cave temple are protected as a National Monument, by the Archaeological Survey of India per Notification No. 2407-A. It belongs to the Hinayana Buddhism sect in Maharashtra.

It was amazing experience. Luckily when we reached there it was raining and that made our day. We went to see points like Liones Point, Shivling Point, Bhushi Dam. We went to Khandala and did trekking at Lohgad Fort.

It was raining pretty hard that day and so some roads were washed out and we could get to the hill station so I guess I will have to do the tour again! There is a lot of steps to climb to get to some of the attractions so be prepared for that.Lot of attractions in Lonavala and Khandala especially during the monsoons. In one day one can cover all the points . In 6 to 7 hrs hours one can cover Narayani Dham, Lion Point,Tiger Point,Wax Museum , Bushi Dam and other waterfall points on the way. In Khandala one can see the Rajmachi Garden ...
Lot of attractions in Lonavala and Khandala especially during the monsoons. In one day one can cover all the points . In 6 to 7 hrs hours one can cover Narayani Dham, Lion Point,Tiger Point,Wax Museum , Bushi Dam and other waterfall points on the way. In Khandala one can see the Rajmachi Garden with wonderful view of the expressway . Nearby there is dukes point and small temple.All points in Khandala can be covered in half an hour. Fudge and Chikki is very famous in Lonavala.Coopers outside Lonavala station is a good outlet to buy them but it is open only during a certain time and always crowded. If you are out of time ,one can try any other outlet . Every nook and corner there are numerous shops selling chikkis.
