Spectacular tour of Murano and Burano. Our tour guide, Nico, met us promptly at our set meeting spot and we walked right on to our water taxi. The water taxi took us first to the Island of Murano where we toured the oldest glass factory on the island. We watched a great demonstration of glass making, each step was nicely explained. I loved that there were five of my family members (including me) in our group with our own glass factory guide. The glass factory guide not only stayed with us throughout the whole glass demonstration, but he also walked us through their very large, very beautiful showroom and answered all of our questions with respect and professionalism. After our glass making tour was complete, we then boarded the water taxi, which was waiting at the dock for us, and we headed to Burano. First, we walked through the quiet residential area of the island and Nico explained how the people of Burano lived and some of their customs. It was wonderful, so peaceful and beautiful. We ended up in the city square and visited a store where a lace making demonstration was going on. The owner of the store explained how lace is made and after, took us through her store and showed us many examples of different laces. While we were finishing up our time at the lace store, Nico visited a bakery and bought us cookies that were Burano specialties, so thoughtful of him. We headed back to Venice with big smiles on our faces. Our family of 4 including 2 kids were given an unforgettable tour of Murano and Burano by Luca. It was a day filled with fun as well as experiencing and learning new things. Luca was very knowledgable and friendly which made this whole experience even better. The tour of the glass-making factory was something we will forever cherish. We met some wonderful people there and saw first hand how these masterpieces are created. I would totally recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see these 2 incredible and unique islands in one day.Private viewing of master Murano glassmakers. Lovely way to see these special heirloom islands while minimizing the crowds.

Luca’s private tour exceeded all of our expectations! His knowledge of Murano (coming from a family of Murano artists) and Burano (because he grew up with a nephew of the oldest lace-maker) is unparalleled. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he clearly loves sharing his beloved Venice with visitors. I can say with 100% certainty that I will never book another tour guide or tour agency in Venice except Luca (or his team) and ShoMe Venice! We loved the private water taxis to Murano, Burano, and back to the city! Sure you can take a water bus for way less, but we couldn’t have seen as much had we relied on the water bus, as it’s slow and crowded. The behind the scenes glassmaking demonstration on Murano was fascinating, as was our private tour of the studio. Watching the lace-making in Burano took me back in time and fascinated me. But hearing Luca’s passion and fascinating information is what made the trip the best! I’d give more than five stars if possible!Matteo arrived promptly at our hotel and walked us to our private water taxi for our Murano/Burano tour. Matteo arrived promptly at our hotel and walked us to our private water taxi for our Murano/Burano tour. At Murano, we were taken to the back of the glass-blowing area, where we had a private demonstration by one of the artists. We were also able to get a close-up view of the furnaces. After the demonstration, we walked through the glass shop, where we saw amazing glass works. Then we boarded our water taxi for the trip to Burano. Matteo was very familiar with the island. We did a walking tour, and Matteo gave us an excellent appreciation of life on the island. We saw lace-making in one of the lace shops, and he purchased a bag of local cookies for us. Matteo was endearing, personable, and knowledgeable and was very enthusiastic about sharing information about Venice. He gave us restaurant recommendations and walked us to an excellent trattoria for lunch. We really enjoyed our time with Matteo. By the end of the tour, we felt like family! We very highly recommend Matteo for any tour and would want him to be our tour guide if and when we return. He was one of the best tour guides we have ever had in our travels!Leonardo was very informative. He provided both an historic view and his own memories of life on Murano and in Venice. He was very considerate of my husband’s difficulties with mobility and made the tour fun and enlightened Thank you Leo
