Pas cher 15 US$/p. argent comptant seulement. We traveled as a party of 5 (my husband and I, our two teens, and my dad). We traveled as a party of 5 (my husband and I, our two teens, and my dad). We had such a great time and felt comfortable with our tour guide Fernando during our entire visit. He picked us up at the designated location and drove us to our stops in a cool A/C van. He shared so much information with us about the island and had such a great sense of humor. Our visit to Manawakie Park was amazing! We were able to leave our belongings in the van (since we had the same driver the whole time) while we went to visit our island animal friends. Our guide at the park was Michelle (like Mrs. Obama as she would say) and she was so good at giving us such a great experience. We learned about the island, traditions, culture, and got to visit with a handsome sloth, a pretty parrot, and a bunch of adorable and fiesty monkeys. I want to also add that the sloth handler shared so much information about the sloth as well. We enjoyed our visit at the park and it wasn't overly crowded. We actually had private time with the animals with our guide. The chocolate and rum tour was fun. We didn't stay there long, and it worked out because we had more time at the beach. The beach that we went to was absolutely beautiful. We're from Hawaii, so we can appreciate a good beach. I got a massage for about $20 for 30 minutes. There were jet skis available to rent and places to buy food. Our guide was SO awesome that he gave us the option of him hanging out with us (staying with our items) or just hanging out nearby to give us privacy. We ended up not eating at the beach and instead Fernando took us to a local spot near the cruise port. It was pretty pricey compared to buying food outside of a tourist spot.. however it was near the cruise port, so it was expected. However, the food was great! We ate at the Jungle Top restaurant. I had a fried fish plate (with rice/beans, salad and plaintains) for $25 and there were other options such as chicken, stewed beef, shrimp, and lobster plates. You can even try fried iguana and enjoy a nice selection of beer/cocktails. Overall, great visit and lots of great memories! Ask for Fernando!WARNING! The bad news first: I would give it 5 stars except for this... Package #2 that includes the beach does not inform you that there is an extra entry fee into the beach area (which is not part of Manawakie Park. It is a separate area for tourists). WARNING! The bad news first: I would give it 5 stars except for this... Package #2 that includes the beach does not inform you that there is an extra entry fee into the beach area (which is not part of Manawakie Park. It is a separate area for tourists). The unexpected fee was $15 per person plus tax. So for the 4 of us it was an extra $72 out of our pocket. If we weren't so hungry we would not have paid the fee as there is a restaurant on the premesis. The restaurant obviously charges as well, so it turned out to be a very' very expensive lunch in a small un-airconditioned room that looked more like just a bar. The food was good, but the person who ate the burger was convinced that it was plant-based rather than actual beef. So I don't recommend that beach/restaurant. Even though we didn't use the beach area, they still charged us the full entry fee. Otherwise, the tour of Manawakie Park was great with the animals. Monkeys jump on you which is fun, but they keep trying to get in your pockets looking for food or trinkets I guess. One jumped on my head and I think he tinkled in my hair, but just a very little bit and didn't bother me being a guy. There is a chance of them urinating and/or pooping on you, so keep that in mind. Also it's a dirt floor enclosure, so you will get monkey feet dirt on you, but again did not bother me. They do have a washing station. Holding the sloth was great, yet brief. It's like holding a very hairy baby. Holding a toucan was fun as well. Then they take you to a small room with murals and statues explaining their history. The "park" is quite small, but we still recommend it. Our first stop on the way to the park was to what I would call a touristy flea market with the usual wares. We bought some items with decent prices. But check all the booths because they will have the same items at different prices. The chocolate "factory" (small store, actually) was about as expected. They give an explanation of where chocolate comes from. The Rum "factory" was just a small store as well. They had only one brand of rum in different flavors. Although I'm a rum drinker, I did not buy any as it was $35 for a 750ml bottle, and I was poorer due to the aforementioned beach fee. The island tour was good. It definitely showcased the poverty of the island (passing a massive garbage heap on the way to the park) in contrast with $380,000 houses. JV was our island guide/driver who was very knowledgeable of the island and history. He was very personable as well. I just wish he had warned us about the beach fee.My husband and I had a private tour by Fernando (who was amazing!). We had a wonderful day with Ryan. We enjoyed the monkeys. Holding a sloth was a highlight of the day! Ryan then took us around the island, and ended up at this great beach. Ryan was there to watch our stuff, so we could enjoy beach activities and most importantly he was aware of the time needed to get back to our ship. I was able to relax and just let Ryan be in charge. My family ( 8) of us agreed it was the best excursion of our entire trip. I highly recommend Manawakie. Ask for Ryan he will keep you entertained!
