When you arrive at Bunratty Medieval Castle Banquet, a kilted piper plays a tune of welcome. You will ascend the Castle steps crossing over the drawbridge to the 'Bite of Friendship' offered by one of the Hostesses.
Upon entering the Great Hall resplendent with tapestries and furniture of the 16th Century, savor a goblet of Mead while mingling with the Ladies of the Castle. The Castle’s history is related followed by a medieval Madrigal. Witness the crowning of the Earl & Lady before descending to the Banquet Hall where bench seating, candle-lights, and long oak tables reflect the Banqueting style of the medieval era.
While partaking of a sumptuous four course dinner with fine wines, delight to the dulcet tones of the Ladies of the Castle accompanied by Irish Harp and Fiddle. The Butler seeks the Lords approval for all dishes brought before him. However, a scoundrel is revealed who must be brought before the Earl who decides his fate.

We really enjoyed our evening. Fun music, great story line and wonderful performers. The story telling was fun and the food was great. A really lovely evening in an authentic castle. Some difficult stairs up and down, but nothing unmanageable.

The meal was good, the musicians and singers were fantastic. One of the female singers was could match Susan Boyle, however some of the old xmas song material was boring. Would have been sensational if some traditional Irish Songs were included.

Some of the people in our family of 9 scheduled for the banquet were a bit concerned that it might be "corny" ... but it wasn't corny at all! It was so well-done! The food was really good and we enjoyed eating with only our "daggers" or our fingers! The entertainment was superb - the entertainers were very well-rehearsed and we heard Irish songs, the most beautiful Irish harp I've ever heard, the violin and more. The "Lord" of the banquet was very convincing and it was hilarious to have him include guests from the banquet in his routine! (I regret not wearing medieval attire!) And, yes, the wine is "unlimited"!! The experience of actually feasting in a castle that has seen so much of history was an experience that I will never forget. I'm so glad that we were able to do this. 18 thumbs up!!Hat off once again to all the staff at the medieval banquet, from the moment you arrive your are treated as real lord’s and ladies. The food was super and the entertainment was pure class. Well worth the visit
