Overview

Your Experience

Embark on a Milford Track guided walk from Te Anau and feel enriched with the wilderness surrounding you. Milford Track is one of New Zealand’s Great Walks located in UNESCO-listed Fiordland National Park. While visiting New Zealand, a walk through Fiordland Park is a must, even if it is only a small walk.

Kick start your tour with a coach ride to Milford Sound which would be the departure point of the guided walking tour. To proceed to the Milford Track, take a small boat ride to Sandfly Point. Walk alongside the cascading Arthur River on a well-maintained track that totals 5.5 km one way. This unique World Heritage Site is best explored by foot as you walk through the emerald green ferns with the canopy of trees towering above as you listen to birds singing through the trees. Reach your destination, the Great Gate where you can view the spectacular waterfall from the large swing bridge across the river.

This hike is truly a wonderful experience as it is feasible for individuals of all ages, and fitness levels and is conducted in a small group tour. As you walk past the lush flora and fauna, feel free to ask your guide as many questions as possible and also learn from them about the human heritage of this magnificent National Park.
