Harry helped us feel the wonder of this land and make a strange connection to those who lived here and the land itself. Seeing the Anasazi ruins and their ancient art work was amazing but now we better understand who they were and maybe what happened to them. I would request him, if I ever return and will recommend to friends who are planning to visit.

We chose Charlene's Dineh Bekeyah Tours because we could be picked up at The View, where we staying, and on the basis of the excellent reviews on TA. And here's another one. My wife and I did the off-road Mystery Tour with the excellent Navajo guide, Harry - just the two of us in a comfortable 4x4 over bumpy unmade roads and past rock formations hundreds of millions of years old - and the sunset tour through the Valley with 10 others in one of the company's pickups with an open air viewing platform. Harry is a wonderfully interesting guy and by the end of our 3-hour tour, we thought we had got to know him pretty well, including the tip to get very good ice coffee from the guy in the trailer outside the visitor's centre and to go over to Gouldings to try some Navaho fry bread with chili con carne. He is also a skilled photographer and taught me how to use some of the previously unused functions on my camera. He also identified the desert flowers and told us the uses made by the Navajo of the various plants we saw. We visited a mirror pool and took shots but I guess the highlight of this tour was the rock face with numerous petroglyphs, evidently carved some time between 400 and 600 years ago. After a much-need rest (and lunch at Gouldings), we went on the Sunset Tour between 5 and 8 pm when the weather still very warm and the sun bright. Again, Harry was our guide. We visited the main named "monuments" and then stopped at a hogan to see a young Navajo woman spinning wool and Harry explaining the different Navajo kitchen utensils, before viewing more petroglyphs and a splendid rock formation with an eye. These tours have been the highlight of first visit to the Southwest. Apart from the sites themselves, our excellent guide Harry, the tours were well organized with a ready supply of water for thirsty travelers. With great email communication beforehand, we cannot recommend the tours too highly. My wife and I recently took this tour while visiting Monument Valley. My wife and I recently took this tour while visiting Monument Valley. Our driver/tour guide, Derick, did an excellent job to show us sights that most visitors don’t get to see including several arches and very old native Indian structures. We rode around in a inside a Blazer-like vehicle. My tour groups go out in open vehicles. Well worth a trip when in the area.
