What a fantastic experience! Bilal picked us up at our hotel and took us to tour the markets prior to heading to his lovely home to prepare a feast! Even though our prior tour ran late, Bilal and his wonderful wife, Sana, were extremely gracious and accommodating and allowed us to cook the full meal we'd originally planned: couscous with 7 vegetables and a chicken tagine. Cooking was very hands on and we learned so much! I cannot wait to recreate these delicious meals at home! Our couscous and chicken dinner was topped off by mint tea , fresh pomegranate, and Sana's homemade cookies - delicious! If you are looking to learn to cook authentic local food, with a local family, this is the experience, tour guide, and family for you!If you looking for a class where you can shop and learn to cook with a local family I highly recommend taking a class with Bilal and his wife Sana. If you looking for a class where you can shop and learn to cook with a local family I highly recommend taking a class with Bilal and his wife Sana. They were so gracious and patient with us. They customized our class to cook what we wanted and although we had a very late start we still cooked the whole Meal. It was very hands on and they explained everything very well. We cooked cous cous with seven vegetables and chicken and everything was so delicious. Bilal is an excellent tour guide. He took us on an extended tour of the Medina and allowed us to shop. This caused our private cooking class to start later then expected but they accommodated us with no hesitation. I highly recommend Bilal if you are looking for an experience where you can immerse yourself with the localsBilal and his wife gave my fiance and I a private, warm, lovely tradition Morrocan cooking experience. Bilal and his wife gave my fiance and I a private, warm, lovely tradition Morrocan cooking experience. The day started with Bilal picking us up at the meeting location, from there we ventured to the local market to purchase fresh meat, vegetables, dessert and herbs for the most delicious chicken Tangien I've had in Morroco. During the trip to the market Bilal took his time to answer our questions about Tanger and point out historic facts about the city. Upon arriving to their home, we were welcome by his lovely wife who began our cooking class/ experience. We learned how to make Morrocan bread from scratch, chicken tangines, Morrocan salad and mint tea. We nibbled on fresh olives, delicious honey desserts and enjoyed laid back conversation with our wonderful hosts. The whole experience felt like a nice evening cooking with friends. A must try when your in Tangier, the highlight of our trip!We had an amazing time visiting the market with Bilal, then cooking at his home with him and his wife. They were generous and gracious hosts, and were just as interested in hearing about our culture as we were about theirs. Can't wait to see them again one day, this time in California!
