Was a really good trip. Our driver Bayou was attentive, chatty and very friendly. Our guide Maanwiss for the hike set a good pace for us and was great in making us feel comfortable even when it was cold on the top of the mountain. Great photos and views, and the walk back down through the village...

We had a fantastic day, the hike with Surabagia was great, he was very nice & taught us plenty. The views on Mt Batur were unreal. Our driver Baiu was very welcoming and we enjoyed the trips around with him. Highly recommend this trip.

I booked this experience as a young solo female traveller totally spontaneously only about 6 hours before it happened. At first I was really nervous and scared because I hadn’t done anything like this alone, and I was unsure whether it would be safe or if I could finish the climb. But the agency ...
I booked this experience as a young solo female traveller totally spontaneously only about 6 hours before it happened. At first I was really nervous and scared because I hadn’t done anything like this alone, and I was unsure whether it would be safe or if I could finish the climb. But the agency contacted me immediately after my booking, and were so kind answering my questions about who would be on the trip that night. I was told that due to construction the hot springs were closed and I would get a $20 AUD refund, but I would have appreciated knowing that before I booked, as well as how many people would be going each night. However, I still had to get in the van to the mountain at 1:30am with two men who I didn’t know, and I was obviously very nervous. The other two people that night wouldn’t be getting picked up for another hour, but Jodi the driver was so kind and did his best to reassure me and make me feel safe. The climb itself is difficult, but completely doable for a person of moderate fitness. My guide was fantastic, he kept us safe, set a decent pace and kept an eye on everyone. He also carried my bag, and was just a fun person overall, an absolute champ! I’m so sorry I don’t remember your name, but if the agency recognises him, please do contact me and tell me it! Unfortunately, we went on a cloudy day and so we didn’t get that classic shot of the sunrise, but nonetheless the view is beautiful and the experience was so personally rewarding. I highly recommend it. Afterwards, we went to a coffee plantation, which was very interesting and offered more views of the country. It had been raining really hard that night, so there had been a landslide which blocked the main road, but Jodi handled this like an absolute legend, was obviously comfortable with the tiny roads and was just fantastic overall. He’s a great person to be around if you’re stuck in a car for 3 hours at a time, we blasted music on the way back! He made me feel very safe and was an amazing driver. Overall, I do recommend that you have this experience while in Bali!Maria_G
