We went on the Creole bike tour. It was a 3 hour low to medium intensity bicycle ride through the edge of French Quarter, cemetery #2, up Esplanade st, to City Park and back. All the historical facts satisfied my history channel self. But the way Eric added the elements of his childhood in New Orleans, the French/ Creole language into each story was an art form. Honestly, we could have just listened to his stories for 3 hrs in a cafe and been satisfied. We had plenty of stops to rest and get off our bike for 10 minutes at a time. The nice stop to get Beignets at Cafe du Monde at City park was a nice perk without the 1 hr line at the other location in the French Quarter. The bicycle trip was a nice way to travel the city with a nice breeze to keep you cool. It was a highlight of our trip!Eric was awesome! This bike ride was easily the most fun part of my trip to New Orleans. Eric will keep you laughing as he educates you about the history of his beloved city.
