Our catamaran offers the most space for your comfort and provides the greatest range to increase your chance of finding whales.

What to expect
Explore the incredible Witless Bay Ecological Reserve, home to over 2.5 million seabirds and one of the largest populations of whales in the North Atlantic (sightings vary by season). You'll travel aboard a stable catamaran with a comfortable viewing platform for your wildlife experience.
The tour includes stops along the sheltered areas of the islands that comprise the Witless Bay Ecological Reserve. The areas visited offer great opportunities to view and photograph the nesting sites and activities of several seabird species.
Whale watching is big part of the adventure with the peak season for encounters typically mid-June through mid-August annually. We make all reasonable efforts to provide you with an opportunity to encounter whales in their natural environment, the level of activity and interaction is entirely at the discretion of the whales.
Tour narrated by an experienced, professional crewmember providing commentary, with a mix of information about the natural and cultural heritage of the area.

Additional information
- Children must be accompanied by an adult
- Participants are advised to regard all instruction provided by the vessel crew
- Not wheelchair accessible
- Direction/guidance is provided to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all passengers
- Depending on vessel movement/sea conditions, passengers may be advised by the crew to refrain from standing or to remain seated during certain portions of the cruise
- Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately
- Infants must sit on laps
- Whales and or icebergs cannot be guaranteed on any given cruise.
- Most travelers can participate
- If in the event that the activity is cancelled on the part of Gatherall’s at any time prior to or during the scheduled activity, participants can elect to either reschedule at no additional charge or will receive a full refund.
- Transportation is available from select hotels - additional fees applicable - must be confirmed two hours in advance of tour. Contact Gatherall's
- This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund

The crew were great. We saw hundreds of puffins and different seabirds and learnt loads. The boat was clean and we loved the bumpy ride at times. Dress warm and take gloves! It is well worth the trip!

From the captain on, each crew member was knowledgeable, approachable and helpful - and great singers! I hope I have all the names right: Luke, Liam, James and Luke were onboard for our tour. The safety rules before we sailed were taken very seriously but presented by the captain in a memorable way. Respect was shown to the dolphins and whales we encountered and the boat was handled in such a way that people on both sides caught a glimpse. The trip ended all to soon with a captain and crew who all obviously loved what they were doing. Highly recommend!Hotel pickup with Scott was great and on time, the boat was comfortable and felt safe throughout, the crew were very pleasant, entertaining and knowledgeable about the birds and wildlife...... got to see the puffins and a whale and lucky enough to have a sunny day!

The tour was well worth it, we would recommend this to everyone. Of course we saw lots and lots of puffins and other local birds. Even Bald Eagles!
