The tour picked us up at our hotel, a great feature! The ride is a little long to Nicaragua, but it's very scenic! Edwardo, our guide, met us on the Costa Rica side and walked is through the entire border crossing. The process was so smooth and fast! It would have taken hours without Edwardo. Edwardo spoke great English, and was full of information about the country! We saw historic churches, visited a cigar factory, participated in making chocolate, took a boat ride and saw monkeys, watched lava flow from an active volcano, and walked around a local market. The food included was delicious! Edwardo even set up a special horse drawn carriage ride for us as it was our anniversary. This trip is absolutely fantastic, Nicaragua is 100% worth the visit!I was looking for a day tour to Nicaragua from Liberia, Costa Rica and this tour fit everything that I was looking for. I was looking for a day tour to Nicaragua from Liberia, Costa Rica and this tour fit everything that I was looking for. We had an AMAZING guide. Her name was Milene who was very knowledgeable of her country and who went above and beyond what a guide does for her customers. The included meals were simple Nicaraguan food that was fresh and very appetizing. I would highly recommend this trip to others who want to book this day trip.Extremely knowledgeable tour guide, Very Safe, Good Food, Best tour on our entire Costa Rica Trip. Great Food, First Rate

This trip to Nicaragua turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica! My wife and I truly enjoyed ourselves. From the time we were picked up, to the time we were dropped off, we felt comfortable and safe. Claudia's knowledge of Nicaragua and his contacts there made our trip a breeze through the border and at all the excursions. Once through immigration, we were met on the other side by a van that took us to all the activities of the day. Our first stop was for a typical Nicaragua breakfast. Great food and lovely people! Then we were off to the top of a volcano, which was an amazing experience. You actually get to go to the edge of the crater and look into the volcano to see flowing lava below! Then, the next stop was a boat ride on Granada Lake, which also was a blast. We stopped at several islands in the lake, where we got to feed monkeys right out of your hand. The monkeys actually got into the boat to grab the food. It was definitely my wife's highlight of the trip! Next was a stop in downtown Granada for a great local lunch, then off to see a cigar and chocolate factory. After several shots of locally made chocolate infused liqueur, we were ready for a trip through the streets of Granada, which happened to be having a fiesta. All in all, it was an awesome adventure! We highly recommend Clamatours and commend Claudio and his choice of excursions for this trip!My husband went on the tour to Nicaragua on Nov 27th and had a blast. My husband went on the tour to Nicaragua on Nov 27th and had a blast. He met some really friendly people on the tour bus and couldn't say enough about how friendly Ernesto and Johnathan were. He said there was a little mixup at the border with the tour bus keys getting locked in the bus, but Ernesto had another set of keys and all was good. Of course there is always someone going to get upset and start yelling but these things can happen and some people just need to take a "chill pill"!! These people were not happy with anything on the tour- the food, the bus, etc etc...- what does that tell you!! My husband was very happy with the whole experience!
