This was a really fun and interesting food tour centred around the lively Nishiki Market in downtown Kyoto. Our guide, Yutaka san, was fantastic. Yutaka san is a Kyoto native so knows the area super well. Yutaka san speaks English very well, was super organised, very considerate and patient in his approach, had very established rapport with the stall and shop proprietors that we visited and was very knowledgeable. As well as tastings of various things along the way we stopped at a local restuarant for brunch, which turned out to be quite a substantial meal, all included in the tour price. All round the tour was a really pleasant experience and we would recommend it highly to anyone visiting Kyoto. Thanks Yutaka san for such a great food tour.Such a great guy. So friendly and informative. Great food. Spoke English perfectly. I would do it again.

Prior to the tour, we were provided via email with clear instruction on where to meet. Tomoe was an excellent guide. Our small group of 7 started off strolling through Pontocho. We had strolled through Pontocho the night before and it was very busy, but wished we had done this tour first, as Tomoe pointed out a number of features that we hadn't noticed or appreciated from the night before. We then proceeded to Nishiki market. Once again, it was great to have a local guide to translate and explain the variety of foods and their cultural significance. One could stroll through on their own and rely on g+*g#@ translate, but you don't get the nuances or deeper understanding. Brunch/lunch at the end was more substantial than we were expecting and the overall experience was very good value and worthwhile.Highly recommend! Our guide Yutaka was amazing - very informative and the shops where we stopped to so that wrote could make purchases were well curated. The brunch featuring a selection of local Kyoto dishes was outstanding.
