Stop At: Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai
Don’t follow the herd. Forget green curry and pad Thai, that's central Thai fare. Hop on board our private songthaew truck for four hours of feasting. Hit up the street eats and fresh markets across the city gorging on 15+ Northern Thai tastings. Many are unaware that this used to be the Lanna Kingdom well before it was part of Thailand and its food influences come from neighbouring Myanmar, China and beyond. We don't want to spoil the surprise, but some drool-worthy highlights include the zingy nam ngiaw noodles, the meaty larb salads, the sizzling lemongrass sai oua sausages and piquant nam prik relishes among many more lip-smackingly good tastings at places you'd struggle to find alone.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Chiang Mai, Chiang Mai
The tour concludes at the local Wararot Market along the Ping River. Enjoy local hospitality and meet new friends along the way. End the tour armed with the knowledge you'll need to continue eating street food across Thailand.

This is a great tour to get to know the local cuisine. We tried more than 20 dishes, including some that are extraordinary for western people..and that was both delicious and interesting. Muai, our guide, was friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgable, and we enjoyed her guidance very much!

Fun and delicious night food tour with Moui. We tried so many delicious dishes. Some favorites were the pork and rice from the Cowboy hat lady, the crispy pork cooked in urns with the best home made salsas from a friendly street food vendor, salt fish on the grill, the sausage from a lady who’s been making it for 40 years and the tea leaf salad ( which is Burmese). Moui had us try fresh durian and to our surprise, it wasn’t bad! Moui was a wonderful guide, happy to share the history of Chiang Mai, both it’s people and it’s food plus answer any questions we had. Enjoyed meeting all the gracious vendors. If your planning a trip add this to your itinerary, you’ll be glad you did. Go hungry! Thank you for a fun and informative evening, Moui.Knowledgeable and well prepared guide, well organized tour & great food selection with great variety of samples. Do come hungry :)
Knowledgeable and well prepared guide, well organized tour & great food selection with great variety of samples. Do come hungry :)Courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable guide. I’m from Bangkok, so some of the dishes were too exotic for me, but anyone who wants to learn about spices and ingredients native to this region would enjoy it. Would recommend to foodies out there.

Excellent tour! We enjoyed the Bangkok tours so much we decided to book in Chiang Mai also. Moui, our tour guide, shared so many new food experiences at a market, restaurant and food stalls. I loved that she showed us ingredients in their raw form at the market before we ate them in dishes later on. We also enjoyed foods from restaurants we never would have found on our own. A Chef’s Tour provides a unique and well planned experience that is a great overview to the foods in an area. Try to book for your first day in town.
