Angelfish, sea turtles, damselfish, parrotfish, squirrelfish and snapper are just some of the regular residents who inhabit the area. All snorkel gear is available on site for a small rental fee and the professionally trained staff sizes each customer individually with the proper gear to ensure the most enjoyable experience. We had a wonderful experience at Paradise Cove. I highly recommend it. We were on a cruise and only really had the morning. We booked the shuttle to and from the ship and the “all inclusive” pass. We could snorkel, SUP, kayak and have a meal. The shuttle, a mini bus, was right on time for pickup. It was my family (husband, wife and twin 17 year old girls) and another family of six. It was a pleasant and informative drive to the resort. We were there April 15 and it was an unfortunately stormy day. Carnival had cancelled its excursions. We were happy just to get out and make our own choices of safety. We had been to Freeport 4 times and had never seen good snorkeling and were excited for this experience. The snorkeling was amazing! We had a brief orientation of the area and safety guidelines. We brought most of our own snorkel gear but used their waist floats because it was a rough day. The owner Barry? Sent us out with a guide, Bree(sorry if spelled wrong). It was stormy and a bit scary despite being good swimmers and used to snorkeling. The water was great though. Just short grasses, crystal clear and not deep before the rock drop off. Our goal was to see turtles. We saw a ray and there were lots of fish in the artificial reef. But Bree knew the turtles were past the rocks hiding in the bottom from the storm. We braved the rock opening and rough water and saw the reef drop off. It was so amazing. We saw the turtles on the sea floor. The turtles swam into the shallows thru the rocks and we watched them for a while. The storm got worse and we hustled back in. So happy for the glimpse of the reef but so sad it was so short. We had a great lunch during the deluge that followed. I had great conch and the rest had burgers and chicken tenders. All with fries. We all thought it was good. They told us they had a new cook. We got some souvenirs at the little gift shop and then right before we had to go, we kayaked for a little bit. Saw more turtles in the shallows before the drop off. We have snorkeled all over the Caribbean and had never seen turtles. Since we really didn’t get to do the “all inclusive” with the almost all morning storm, the owner offered to give us money back. But we’d had such a great time and he did all he could to make it great. We turned him down. I would love to go back and stay in one of his rental houses on the property and snorkel that whole area. It was so beautiful and the people so nice. We relay loved our time and thank the resort for making a stormy day and day to remember. What an adventure!Wonderful experience swimming with sea turtles and meeting Barry the owner of Paradise Cove who was very helpful and accommodating - a must experience in Freeport

This was one of our stops on a cruise. I was looking for a place to take my 7yo snorkelling and I wanted to see sea turtles and someone recommended this place. I booked the snorkelling package through their website and added on beach chairs and an umbrella. The beach is very small, but there is a nice shaded area to sit an eat. They offer food and drinks although we only ordered a beer. You have to go through a presentation before you can snorkel. There are areas marked off where you are not allowed to walk as there is sea grass where the sea turtles feed on and other parts where there is different coral. Including "fire coral" which makes your skin burn for a bit 😬 They used pictures to show you what you will see. They also direct you to where to see stuff. The sea grass area is where you'll most likely see sea turtles. They have manmade reef balls that have coral and tons of fish. And if you go out past the rocks, there is a natural reef where you may see rays, fish, coral, turtles, even small sharks. The tide was out when we were there. It made it a bit harder to get out (plus we took the most difficult way). My 7yo was also nervous of the sea grass and coral. When we finally did get him in the water, we snorkelled the reef balls which he loved and then he was done. I was disappointed because I had not yet seen a sea turtle but we went in. We were just about to leave on the first shuttle but decided we would rent him a kayak. I also decided to hire one of the guides to take me while my husband went with our 7yo. Bri loves this place and it shows. She loves all the creatures. She was a joy to have guiding me and was probably as excited as I was. First place she took me was to the sea grass and it wasn't long before we found a sea turtle. My son was able to come over and see him from the kayak. There were quite a few around. I was thrilled, this was the one thing I wanted. It was amazing to just watch them swim around. Then we went out past the rocks. Man. It was amazing. There were all this little, round orange jellyfish floating in the water. We saw more sea turtles. And then we found an eagle ray. The guide was so excited because she brought her new camera and hadn't yet been able to record the eagle ray. We watched him a bit and moved on. There was tons of coral, all kinds of beautiful fish, a couple of sting rays, more sea turtles. We hung out for awhile then looped back in. Saw a few more turtles and back to shore. This was the highlight of the trip. Sadly the camera we had brought was dead. Bri did take video and pictures and did send me one of a turtle. The day we were there wasn't really a great beach for just swimming as the tide was out. But I would highly recommend it for anyone looking for a good place to snorkel. The shuttle leaves after 2 hours, 4 hours and 6 hours. We would have had lots of time to leave on the 6 hour shuttle and still make our ship but it would depend on the departure time. The guide was very good to let us know the times (and made it clear between "ship time" and local time.We had a great time at Barry‘s place. He and his colleagues were very helpful and supplied us with a lot of information about the area and the snorkelling. Don’t be afraid to book this tour! It’s really worth it!
