This was hands down - the highlight of our trip to Penang. A great company, we booked the day trip only 24hrs before, and received confirmation of our booking almost straight away. On the morning of the tour we were greeted by our tour guide, Lee, who was very friendly and approachable. Before heading off, we discussed our plan for the day, with Lee’s helpful advice. The first half of the day was spent exploring the streets of George Town, by car with some light walking. Lee knew the town so well, you could really tell as he went into detail on the history of Penang. We visited a Buddhist Temple and watched locals visit. Lee taught us about the history of the temple and an insight into Chinese Buddhism. It was all very interesting. Lee treat us to lunch with a local dish which was a great experience of something new. After lunch we visited the Chew Jetty, then went on a short drive by a few hidden gems before heading up to the Botanical Gardens. We did a short walk around the gardens (as the weather was so hot!) and learnt about the nature, visiting the spice garden and smelling and learning about the different spices which grow there. Lee was so informative. We then headed to Penang Hill, the last stop of the day. We were over our time by the time we had arrived however Lee was very patient, we didn’t feel rushed at all. By the time we were dropped off at our hotel we were almost 2 hrs over ! Thanks to Lee for his generosity and kindness. We highly recommend this tour, it was so informative and we learnt so much about Penang and it’s history. We now see Penang through a different pair of eyes. It was definitely our highlight of our stay in Penang. Thanks very much Lee for such a great, memorable day!Tour Guide Lester ( Lam Meng) was very knowledgeable and super nice .
