This tour allowed me to escape busy Santiago for one day to find scenic and relaxing sceneries. The plan was to go to the Penguin Island by boat, but the Pacific Ocean was not so peaceful, so boats could not go out. After having seen the waves, I was not so disappointed, and the guide brought binoculars, so we saw plenty of Penguind from the shore. Instead, we walked some stretches of the 'ramblas', a beautiful path along the pacific coast, where we instead could admire the dramatic waves against the cliffs and canyons. We could watch plenty of pelicans and other birds, many plants, cactus and flowers, and came to beautiful beaches in hidden bays. The tour ended in the more busy beach and surf towns closer to Valparaiso, and a visit to the fantastic historic centre of Valparaiso. If you have only one day to spend, perhaps, when like me, working in Santiago, don't miss the Penguins! The guide was very attentive, had good knowledge of the region, and listened to our wishes.
