With Chef David's guidance, we made a wonderful loma saltado! First, our trip to the market was interesting, seeing fruits and vegetables that aren't available to us back home. When we got to the kitchen, we made light appetizers to hold us over until the fruit plate was prepared. After sampling a dozen different fruits, we were back in the kitchen preparing the "real" appetizer. Ours was a layered potato dish made in a round mold, filled with sautéed vegetables. By the time we were ready for the loma saltado, there was barely room in our stomachs to hold it! Chef David was great, very outgoing and interested in his students. It was a fun 4 hours, but be sure to go hungry, it is a lot of food! This was my favorite cooking class! I learned so much! Not to mention how fun Amadeo and Chef Ruth were! The Market tour was amazing to see. My favorite part was trying to local fruits! Delicious and I would have never exposed myself to this if it wasn’t for this tour! Making Ceveiche and Lomo Sa...
