My husband and I have lived here in Philly for about five years and we spend a lot of time in the gayborhood. Inspired by Pride month, we booked this tour hoping to learn more about Philly's queer heritage and it did not disappoint. Rebecca led us through the gayborhood and explained the history of the area as well as its current state. She did a fantastic job describing the character of our beloved gayborhood while also featuring plenty of smaller details that I never would have noticed. Whether you're visiting or live in Philly and you have any interest knowing the city more intimately - come take this tour! It's more than worth the time and fee! Thank you for the fantastic tour, Rebecca, I'm sure you'll see us around! Danny & DavidI traveled to Philly on my own and was looking for ways to learn more about the city. I learned a lot about not only LGBT movement but also civil rights protests in Philadelphia. Joey was very knowledgeable (almost human archive) and his explanation was easy to understand. Very special and exotic tour among thousands of common history tours. He was also considerate for the guests during all the time. I highly recommend this program. This tour provided me with better knowledge of the LGBTQ history in Philadelphia. When I first moved to Philly, I had no idea how essential the city was in shaping rights for queer people. Excellent job once again, Joey!

This was such a wonderful tour and the highlight of our trip to Philadelphia. Joey was our guide and he was so gracious and accommodating before the tour even began. Throughout the tour itself, he provided so many fascinating insights and delivered the information in such an engaging, thoughtful, and humorous way. If you’re looking for a tour that goes beyond the familiar history and people one associates with Philadelphia, one that incorporates the lesser known yet no less important facts and historical figures of the city, this tour in exactly as advertised and you won’t be disappointed.
