What to expect
Perhaps one of the most storied capital cities in the world, Phnom Penh and risen and fallen multiple times since it was first established in the 5th century. The bustling city you see today, developing at warp speed and home to over 2 million people, was a very different place just decades ago – and locals still prefer their traditional way of life.
Those traditions are still strong, and best seen exploring our vibrant local streets in the morning. We'll travel through the city by tuktuk and visit at least 6 stops where we'll meet the makers, watch our food prepared, and experience how the locals spend their morning.

I decided to do this tour for my birthday while in Phnom Penh and what a great decision it was. I can’t say enough just how hospitable my tour guide Neara and tuk tuk driver were. She remembered every detail and even planned for a surprise birthday cake at the end of the tour. I’ve heard Cambodia is lovely and the people are some of the most hospitable but this surpassed expectation. Neara is very knowledgeable and so kind to her community. She stopped by and greeted everyone along the way and ensured every vendor was taken care of. You can tell she truly loves and values her for her community. Anyway, every single Meal on the tour was just so good. So happy to have spent my birthday doing this and with your team. Lovely experience.Awesome morning out sampling food and drinks at authentic / locals food places. Awesome morning out sampling food and drinks at authentic / locals food places. The locals, our tuktuk drivers and team guide Meara⭐️ were so friendly and inviting no one felt out of place. We even had some locals wanting to know about us as this tour is not on the main routes. Enjoy any walks in between your eats so you can try and fit in your next course! We used this service twice, first for the Evening Tour and then for the Morning Tour. We used this service twice, first for the Evening Tour and then for the Morning Tour. For both, our guide was Neara, and I have to say she is one of the kindest people I have ever met in my life. And probably one of the people who left the biggest impression on my stay in Cambodia. Neara was considerate, curious, and attentive to our needs. She had a special connection with the families and merchants we met, so in addition to learning more about the local food, we also got to know the lives of some of the people we dined with, which gave an incredibly authentic touch to our stay. The food offered is suitable for all taste buds (for the Evening Tour, we were accompanied by an American couple who were there with their two sons, aged 5 and 9, and they were able to eat everything without any problems!), even for those who don't like spicy or greasy food. Attention: don't eat anything before the tour and make sure not to have a heavy meal the night before! Because you will really eat a lot during the tour! This is an experience that I recommend to everyone visiting Cambodia and Phnom Penh. And above all, thanks again to Neara for making this moment so incredible! My Japanese wife and I did the tour, hosted by Neara. My Japanese wife and I did the tour, hosted by Neara. There were six spots we visited, all family-run businesses around Phnom Penh, and all were wonderful. It was also nice having a guide who could talk with us and answer questions about the things we were seeing and whatnot. Each place was different but fun. In one place there was a drunk Tuk-Tuk driver and we got to talk with him and drink together. The tour is great for anyone who wants to get to learn real aspects of Phnom Penh and the food life. If you're not into Asian food you might be turned off by a few of the dishes, but honestly, 90% of them were fine, just normal pork, rice noodles, curry, or beef.Neara, our guide was phenomenal. Neara, our guide was phenomenal. Personable, kind, informative, and engaging. Her English was flawless which was helpful since neither myself nor my partner speak Khmer. Every stop was a unique experience, run by mom and pop and busy with locals and some tourists. Very quaint and traditional. Delicious food and diverse, with lots of new experiences. Neara also spent extra time after the tour was officially over just chatting with us about life and travel and giving recommendations for the remainder of our trip. Couldn't have asked for a better experience, only a second stomach as we were stuffed about 3/4ths of the way through the tour. If you can, request Neara for your guide, you won't regret it. Thank you again Neara and I hope to see you again soon! Our guide was friendly, fun, and informative. We loved her. The locations were cool, and not all in the normal tourist areas. And of course, the food was incredible, a wide variety of awesome local dishes.
