There was a small glitch when one of the roads washed out but John quickly adapted and we were kept totally on time. The black sand beach walk at Piha was an exquisite natural addition to this tour. The wineries were beautiful; there were only 4 of us so all our questions were answered. Lunch was delicious. And we were brought to our hotels right on time.John was a fantastic tour guide. John was a fantastic tour guide. He was well-informed, articulate and very knowledgeable not only on the topics at hand, he was also a very well versed conversationalist. He made the tour and drive time very easy to pass. The 3 wineries we visited were all spectacular in their own rights and I ended up buying wines from 2 of them. Lunch at Soljan's on their covered patio was superb. Nothing but high praise for the meal and the entire tour. Would highly recommend John to anyone, whether you're a self proclaimed wine afficianatio or a newbie with wines (like me!). Thank you John for a fantastic day!! If you're travelling solo, give John a call or e-mail as TripAdvisor doesn't let you book for one. Can’t say enough good things about John and the tour. Great wineries. Great scenery.
