Podgorica City Walking Tour
Overview
The wider area has been inhabited since the Stone Age, but its urban history starts with the arrival of the Romans in the 2nd century B.C. Dating from the period of Illyrian-Roman wars, Podgorica was always at the crossroads for Greek travellers, Roman legionnaires, Byzantine messengers, Serbian noblemen, Venetian merchants, Turkish invaders, Montenegrin warriors...
More than 70 bombings in the Second World War have wiped out many buildings and monuments from the previous centuries. During our 90 minutes walk, we will pass by some of these remaining traces of the previous centuries but will also take a look at the way the city was rebuilt during the communist period and in the later decades.

We made a last minute reservation for a city trip ( Podgorica ) and a visit of the Monastery of Ostrog. The Montenegro Adventures DMC team were most accommodating, very professional and very client focused ( listening to our needs ). The city trip was very interesting and our guide Ana was most knowledgeable bringing her real life experiences into the tour making the tour even more enjoyable. Our trip to Ostrog was most comfortable and our guide ( Bata ) ensured we discovered the hidden treasures this region has to offer. Highly recommended !I had a great time walking the city with Ana. I have lived in Podgorica for 6 months and yet still discovered new things I had never seen. Ana gave such a rich history of the city and country.

We visited Podgorica this April and decided to book a tour at the last moment. It proved to be a good decision as we had an excellent local guide who took us around the town and told us the story of the city which we wouldn't be able to discover on our own. We got a recommendation for local pubs and restaurants. We also booked the same agency for their Kotor tour the next day and it was just as perfect.
