“Aliados”, as Porto inhabitants call in short and proudly to this large avenue, is Porto’s reception room. Some say this is our little Champs Elysées, but this designation is unfair for both sides.

We were lucky to have only 2 of us with our guide - Diogo. He's very young and energetic, with a lot of information and stories. We did have a beautiful night. The most important thing is that we had had quite bad experience with fancesinha, codfish cake (with cheese inside) and caldo verde in some touristic places before, and so thankful that Eating Europe has shown us those 3 dishes so much much more delicious.Definitely worth it. Nanu was a great guide. It was fun and informative. 7 ports at different places with info along the way. And great views of Porto. You cannot go to Porto with a Port tour.

This was an entertaining and enjoyable food experience in small, local restaurants and bars frequented by locals. We had an opportunity to taste novel, Portuguese favorites that we would not have known about or known to order such as a favorite hearty bread and local meat starter in a long-time sports bar. Our guide, Beatriz was exceptional! She was so informative and enthusiastic and introduced us to new drinks as well - the Tango! The food selections gave us a taste of six amazing food selections - and the cod croquettes were the best we’ve had. That was the only food we’d tried. An excellent way to “explore” that Francishina without having to order a whole serving! Beatriz was an outstanding guide and dinner companion for the six of us and allowed us to “progress” through the meals and restaurants at our own pace. Highly recommend and will do this tour in other locations!Beatriz was very friendly and very knowledgeable - the focus was on the food and the history and significance of the food. Beatriz was very friendly and very knowledgeable - the focus was on the food and the history and significance of the food. The choice of food was great - it was a good mix of foods that were more traditional and you may not select yourself off a menu. The walks between stops were relatively short, but were filled with interesting information, very friendly chatter, or recommendations of other places to stop off later in our trip. Beatriz also took the time to send emails about the things we had personally brought up giving us further information about them. Overall, very enjoyable and a really good thing to do on your first night in Porto! Highly recommended! The views and the history that Beatrice shared with us were amazing. The restaurants and food were an exciting experience. It was a real taste of Portugal. Enjoyed every part of this tour and the people we were with. A lot of fun. Thank you for a great evening.
