We were a family party of 5 including a friend and one teenager. We were warmly greeted by Teresa and her chef and on arrival were shown their kitchen, ( which was large and spotlessly clean). Then we were offered a selection of refreshments including Sangria, wine, white and red, and soft drinks. Then came a delicious selection of Portuguese cheeses and different breads. After this we were invited to be seated in Teresa’s garden on a warm evening and we were treated to numerous delicious courses. (Prior to arrival we had informed Teresa that we do not eat pork or shell fish). Each course was served separately, so we could savour each one. The meal comprised about 10 separate courses, comprising vegetarian dishes, fish and meat dishes. We all ate everything because each one was delicious. What made it so special was that nearly all the dishes were ones we had not eaten before, so it was a culinary adventure. Our glasses were constantly being topped up throughout the meal. Teresa and her chef were extremely hospitable and friendly without being intrusive and they both spoke very good English, so we could converse very easily. I would recommend Tapas Chez Teresa to any group who are adventurous and who want to experience something quite unique. It was the best part of our holiday in Cascais and we will make certain to go back to Teresa on our next visit to Cascais.Following the recommendation of our guide, we decided to try Tapas chez Teresa instead of going to our typical restaurant near Cascais marina... Following the recommendation of our guide, we decided to try Tapas chez Teresa instead of going to our typical restaurant near Cascais marina... The experience was so good that we went again on the next day! Teresa not only cooks wonderful meat but also fish besides, of course, the typical aperitif along with homemade cheese and ham. I would strongly recommend you to ask for the “bacalhau” and even suggest a recipe that you would like to try as I am sure Teresa will cook it beyond your expectations. Thanks Teresa and see you soon. When our group arrived we were warmly invited to have an aperitif and nice cheeses! When our group arrived we were warmly invited to have an aperitif and nice cheeses! We wanted to have a drink outside but it wasn’t quite warm enough - so instead we had a tour of Teresa’s house with her lovely husband, there were a ton of interesting Portuguese things in the house! We were also a bit specific with our requirements (we wanted to try a Portuguese sparkling wine and half of us don’t eat meat) but Teresa was fantastic with accommodating them all and made us THE most delicious monk fish rice. Teresa and her husband joined us for dinner in the end and we all had a great time:) She gave us tips of what cheeses to buy and where to go around Cascais area. Very glad our bnb host told us about this little gem of an experience. We decided to go to Teresa's house for dinner after a day trip visiting Cascais from Lisbon. We decided to go to Teresa's house for dinner after a day trip visiting Cascais from Lisbon. I highly recommend the experience for anyone wanting a more original and intimate introduction to Portuguese food. We've eaten some amazing food during our trip in Portugal but nothing on par with Teresa's tapas. Really exceptional and can't recommend it highly enough. It's like going to a restaurant, having the exclusive attention of the head chef and a five star rated tour guide all-in-one. We didn't know who else we were going to be sharing the table with beforehand but ended up with a lovely couple from France so it's also a fun way to meet new people.
