Day 2: Gorilla trekking and experience the amazing Batwa culture
Stop At: Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, Western Region
Wake up to an energizing cup of Coffee; go to the park headquarters for registration and pre trekking briefing by experienced park rangers. The ranger guides will narrate to you about the life of these gorillas and then assign a maximum of eight people to a gorilla group for tracking. The trekking exercise is done on foot deep in the jungle, as the ranger guide follows where the apes were last seen the previous day and then through the hilly terrain and lush plants. The search exposes one to a variety of plants, birds, and primates.
Depending on how far the apes have moved and your pace; tracking the gorillas may last for over 1-7 hours, plus an additional hour of photography, making inquiries and watching poses of the gentle silverback. Thereafter have a Lunch Break; followed by a visit to Batwa pygmies; one of the shortest people in the world and former hunters and gatherers in the Bwindi jungle.

Moses and Chris (the business owner) we’re incredible in their knowledge, their quality of service and their solution focussed approach. They always went the extra mile. Even when their were unforeseen hiccups along the way, Chris made sure he took the time to fix the situation and show up at the location to assure me of the solutions in place. They are such a wonderful tour company and i couldn’t recommend them highly enough. The Gorilla trekking experience was out of this world, they sorted every detail. The knowledge and the care from the guides and rangers was just amazing. I went on a 3-days trip to visit the gorillas in Bwindi from Kigali. The communication with Chris upfront was very good, he always responded quickly. My driver Victor was an excellent driver. He stopped at interesting places where I could enjoy the view and helped me with the formalities at the border between Rwanda and Uganda. Victor informed me well about the gorilla trekking, what to wear and bring and the options for different lengths of the walk. He arranged everything for me The accommodation near Bwindi was beautiful, the staff was very helpful and the bungalows had an amazing view. Loved my experience with Native African tours and can say I would honestly book with them again. We completed the six day gorilla trekking tour that included game drives, chimpanzee trek, boating and heaps of additional fun along the way. Native African tours was very professional and went above and beyond to make our experience in Uganda great. The accomodation was breathtaking, the pictures do not do them justice. Chris was fantastic, he had great communication and quick replies with my 101 questions. Chris and Native African tours were so accommodating even when I asked add additional members to our group after the original booking.I felt there was nothing they wouldn’t do to make our experience. Our guide Racheal was absolutely amazing, so friendly, professional and knowledgeable. I loved the small group size, it was just us group of girls and it definitely felt like a family. I highly recommended!
