We booked this private tour on Viator one day before arriving at Kusadasi on a Norwegian cruise line. Communication with the tour company Travelshowturkey was seamless. When we arrived at port, we were greeted by our guide Tolga and drove around all day in a very posh Mercedes van by a very nice driver. Turkish Lunch by a carpet factory was delicious and the show after was very informative and pressure-free to purchase. Then we went to Virgin Mary House, Ephesus and Basilica of St John the Evangelist. Stopped by a village with a ruin of a Turkish bath haman and a pottery shop specializes in Anatolia stone and moon stone wares. If you come to Turkey, you should hire Tolga Usun and his Travelshow Turkey tour company to make all the arrangements. His father was one of the earliest tour guides in this area. Both of them are well known and respected in this industry. He is kind, knowledgeable, a keen observer and a great communicator. He took great pride in sharing his knowledge, and his immense pride in his country and tradition with us. Thank you for a memorable trip back to thousands of years ago and yet will stay with us for a very long time.We were able to get the same tour from Izmir. We were able to get the same tour from Izmir. Car was very comfortable and clean Mercedes Vito and the driver was very responsible - no hard breaks, no over speeding, very smooth drive. He also took special care to park the car under tree shades where possible and have it AC ready a few minutes before we hopped back in. He even had water for us at one point when we completed one of our tours. The guide was very mindful of kids and hot weather. Took special care to stand under tree shades and let the kids sit down where possible. She had good knowledge of the area and long history of multiple civilizations. She tried well to keep kids interested by relating history to the super heroes that they understood such as Hercules and Diana. Even during the drive she provided good historical background about the area and other structures which we could see from far away. It made the whole experience very inetersting. Food was great and the guide was able to take care of my gluten free requirement. The guide's focus was to make sure we enjoyed the trip. There was a carpet factory right next to our lunch point and she gave us some time to visit the factory. It was a very unique and learning experience for adults and kids alike. She even offered to visit a leather factory nearby which we could have if we had more time. I would recommend this trip to anyone, anytime. One interesting twist to this trip would be a night time trip which I suggest to both visitors and guides. I can imagine that the historical architecture in the area would look great with lights on at night time.Barboros was incredible! He made this adventure our favorite day out of our 9 day cruise!
