Having a delicious breakfast in the Williamsburg Inn is a treat, and learning about Colonial Williamsburg’s rich history makes breakfast even better. At the turn of the century, many buildings in the Colony of Virginia’s former capital city were crumbling. Our guide Bambi used the coffee table book “Williamsburg Before and After” (which we got to keep) to illustrate this historic city’s transformation into the largest outdoor living history museum in the world. Inspiring! Like taking a walk through history in an elegant, cozy setting. It’s also great for people who may have a hard time walking or who don’t want to venture out into the rain or cold. Huzzah! My husband and I went here for vacation. The weather was cool. One day rain. Everything was easy to find. Lots of history to enjoy. Nice dinning at several places.

I loved everything about this tour - our guide, the food, the Williamsburg Inn, the Before and After Book (that we got to keep) and the enthusiasm I felt learning about Colonial Williamsburg’s history. We had a rainy day and wanted to spend time learning, so this was perfect. I was amazed how knowledgeable our guide, Bambi, is and how she radiated happiness that was infectious. We signed up for her Holiday Decorations tour when the weather was nicer and it was spectacular too.Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and kind. Our guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and kind. My wife is in a wheelchair with limited accessibility to some of Colonial Williamsburg’s sites. Both of us love to eat and The Terrace at the Williamsburg Inn was a culinary delight. Our guide gave us the Before and After Restoration and brought along more photos and stories than we could have imagined. We love our new book and highly recommend this tour.We had an excellent time! We had an excellent time! Bambi is super knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Colonial Williamsburg and it's infectious. For this, it's more of a talk than a tour but it's a great alternative to all the walking tours in town and a good break from the weather. This talk is about the restoration of the town in the 30s but did cover a lot of the colonial town history. Breakfast is not included in the tour price, but the price was worth the education. And we got a book to keep that had a lot of information that was covered in the tour for additional reading.
