Down the same Nadi backroads as the Sebato Mud Pools, the Garden of the Sleeping Giant is a wonderful place to immerse in Fiji’s nature. The garden full of orchids and flowing plants lies in a valley below a mountain said to look like a sleeping giant. You’re looking for a personalized, hospitable private tour guide? Look no further because you found him right here. The owner’s name is Rakesh & he was 100% dependable. First we booked him just for a trip from our airport to hotel (Half the cost of a normal taxi). After we clicked right away, we ended up booking him every day for the entire week stay in Fiji. Rakesh listened to our wants and developed a schedule with us for the week making sure everything we wanted to see/do was included. He took us around the island and catered to our needs. He hooked us up with everything we were looking for: private boat (to sandbanks, cloud 9, dope snorkeling spots where we saw clams as big as ponies, and even a shark). He took us to this amazing private beach with $20 horse rides and private boat to a historic cave. Rakesh knows all of the local restaurants to go to, so we didn’t have to just eat the bland hotel food everyday - we ate at truly local, delicious restaurants. He treated us like family and we even got to meet his beautiful wife and wonderful son who are just so welcoming. At the end of our tour, Rakesh and his family welcomed us back anytime. Rakesh has a very different style than your typical commercialized tour companies. Overall, he takes a very personalized, visitor-centered approach and really made our trip that much better.Liked having our own driver and being able to customize the tour. The mud pool was good. Hard for a ambulatory challenged person to do.
