Overview

On this day tour you will meet your friendly local guide at your Hotel or at the meeting point in Sintra's Train Station - Sintra Coffee Lovers. From there, you'll be taken on an adventure to discover the secrets, mysteries and stories Sintra has to offer.

From the best viewpoints to the lesser-known locations, you don't need to worry about the itinerary, just trust our guide and he will fine-tune the tour to cater to your group's demands.

On this tour it is recommended to choose only 1 (one) monument to visit on the inside so this way you have enough time to explore the rest of the surroundings.

As a local, with 5+ years of experience in the field, you can expect our guide Nuno to teach you not only about the history of the places you're going to see but to also include your group in the culture and tradition of the region so this way you will feel like a true local.

During the day, Nuno will give you tips, suggestions, recommendations and most importantly: a very fun adventure!

Stop At: Park and National Palace of Pena, Estrada da Pena, Sintra 2710-609 Portugal

One of the most well-known attractions in Sintra and perhaps in Portugal. Sitting at the top of the Sintra Hills, it's privileged location represents the monarchy at it's high in Portugal. A magnificient and exuberant Palace stands in the middle of a 85 hectares (210 acres) natural park, considered by UNESCO a World Heritage Site.

Visiting inside is optional.
The visit does not include the guide on the inside of the monument.

2. Ticket for the Park + Palace + Terraces

Pass By: Castelo dos Mouros, Estrada da Pena Parque de Monserrate, Sintra 2710-609 Portugal

Built by the Moors in the 8th and 9th centuries, it was an important strategic point during the Reconquista, and was taken by Christian forces after the fall of Lisbon in 1147. Considered to the the "crown" of Sintra.
We will stop at certain viewpoints where you'll be able to see the Castle.

Pass By: Palacio e Parque Biester, Avenida Almeida Garrett 1A, Sintra 2710-567 Portugal

The Biester Palace dates back to the last two decades of the 19th century (1880-1890), and is a Romantic work par excellence, eclectic and exuberant, with elegant elevations that reveal the good taste of the period at its peak. The execution of the magnificent frescoes and carvings, which richly decorate all the walls, was given to the most renowned artists, Luigi Manini and Leandro Braga.

Pass By: Sintra National Palace, Largo Rainha Dona Amelia, Sintra 2710-616 Portugal

Standing in the historical heart of Sintra, this is the best-preserved medieval royal residence in Portugal, being inhabited more or less continuously from at least the early 15th century to the late 19th century.

Stop At: Quinta da Regaleira, Rua Barbosa do Bocage, Sintra 2710-567 Portugal

The second most well-known attraction in Sintra. Incredible property with a mix and mash of different architectural styles and some deep stories involving secret societies, templars and millionars. Home to the most photographed place in Sintra, the Initiation Well.

The Seteais Palace is a neoclassical palace operating nowadays as a luxury hotel known as the Tivoli Palácio de Seteais Hotel. It's gardens rival those of famous french palaces and the view from behind it's iconic arch is a must-see.

Pass By: Parque e Palacio de Monserrate, R. Visc. de Monserrate, Sintra 2710-591 Portugal

The Park and Palace of Monserrate is a captivating destination that seamlessly blends architectural splendor, lush gardens, and breathtaking scenery, built by a British merchant and art collector named Francis Cook in the 19th century.
The palace, known for its striking blend of Gothic, Indian, and Moorish styles, exudes an enchanting ambiance.
The surrounding park features expansive gardens adorned with exotic plants, meandering pathways, and serene water features.

Stop At: Colares, Colares, Sintra Municipality, Lisbon District, Central Portugal

Stop At: Praia Grande, Colares, Sintra Portugal

Located on the western coast of Portugal near Sintra, is a breathtaking beach renowned for its natural beauty and surf-friendly waves.
Stretching over two kilometers, it offers a magnificent expanse of golden sand lapped by the Atlantic Ocean. Surrounded by rugged cliffs and stunning rock formations, Praia Grande provides a dramatic backdrop for sunbathing, leisurely walks, and water activities. This place is the western-most point in Continental Europe. The views of the rugged landscape, dominated by cliffs and low vegetation are definitely worth of your attention. Behold the place "Where the earth ends and the sea begins".
