Stop At: Eglise Saint-Come-et-Saint-Damien d'Angoville-au-Plain, 1 Rue de l'Eglise, 50480 Angoville-Au-Plain, Carentan-les-Marais France
In this small village, the tiny church was used as a first aid post by two 2 medics from the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, who managed to save the lives of many injured soldiers, American as well as German.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Sainte Mere Eglise, Rua General Koenig, Sainte-Mere-Eglise France
The first town in France to be liberated by American troops in WW2. This strategic crossroads town was captured by the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the “All American” 82nd Airborne Division. Taken early in the morning of 6th June and also depicted in the film The Longest Day. Hear the stories of the men involved, including John Steele who got caught on the town steeple.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Musee du Debarquement Utah Beach, Plage de la Madeleine Utah Beach, 50480 Sainte-Marie-du-Mont France
Of the two American sectors on D-Day, the landings at Utah Beach were the most successful. Here you will hear about the various factors that contributed to the American success, and you will have the opportunity to see monuments dedicated to the units involved in the landings on 6 June, as well as German bunkers.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Pointe du Hoc, 14450 Cricqueville-en-Bessin France
On top of 100ft high cliffs, the Germans had established a long-range gun battery. It was the task of US Army Rangers to assault this position, scale the cliffs and destroy the German guns. This site has been preserved as a battlefield and you will be able to go into the many German bunkers, see the hundreds of bomb craters, and of course the cliffs the Rangers scaled.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Omaha Beach, Avenue de la Liberation, Saint-Laurent-sur-Mer France
At the second American sector, Omaha beach, we will visit the part of the beach that was depicted in opening scenes of the film Saving Private Ryan: here is where the heaviest casualties on D-Day were suffered. You will hear about the units involved, learn about how many things can and did go wrong here, but also how initiative, determination and leadership resulted in success.
Duration: 45 minutes
Stop At: Cimetiere Americain de Colleville-sur-Mer, 14710 Colleville-sur-Mer France
The final resting place of 9380 American servicemen and women from the Normandy campaign, located on high ground overlooking the eastern side of Omaha Beach. It covers more than 170 acres and is maintained by the American Battle Monuments Commission. Here you will have the opportunity to pay your respects and witness the lowering of the flags.

I have been a student of WWII for over 50 years. I have read many books about D Day and consider myself an expert. My wife and I experienced a full day tour of the American beaches and another full day tour of the Canadian and British beaches. Had Mike been available, we would have also booked the full day Omaha to St. Lo tour. Normandy is amazing, and Mike was better than excellent. He is very personable and knowledgeable. His van is very comfortable. He is able to customize your tour based upon your personal preferences. For example, we spent quite a while at Brecourt Manor at my request. Mike knows what time to go where and the best places to park. Mike also knows fantastic sites not known to many people; e.g. Hillman. I wish there is some way to rate Mike 10 stars. We spent a full day with Mike exploring the history and sites of WWII starting with the German Cemetery (at my request) and finishing at the American Cemetery with many stops in between including Utah and Omaha beach and some fascinating off the beaten path spots as well. We spent a full day with Mike exploring the history and sites of WWII starting with the German Cemetery (at my request) and finishing at the American Cemetery with many stops in between including Utah and Omaha beach and some fascinating off the beaten path spots as well. Mike is a walking encyclopedia of WWII information and facts and superb story teller bringing the events to life as we roamed the countryside, poked into churches and stood on the landing beaches. We could listen to his soothing radio quality voice for hours. His enthusiasm for the topics was infectious and it was clear that he relishes sharing his passion with his guests. There wasn’t a question he couldn’t answer or a topic where he wasn’t fluent. He’s a fluent English speaker so there were absolutely no issues with communication. His large, room van can take 8 although we were just a party of two. By the end of the day we had a much clearer idea of the events of D-day, where things went according to plan and where Hollywood movies have embellished things to suit their needs. Mike is an absolute must for your tour, but don’t wait, he books out months ahead-and now I understand why.We would highly recommend Mike to anyone. He is the consumate tour guide with a wealth of knowledge. He took time to research my husband's uncle who lost both his legs in Normandy on Omaha beach. He made the tour exciting, fun, heartwarming, and very educational.

If I could give Mike and Allied Victory Tours more than 5 stars, I would do so. Everything about our experience was top-notch. We spent our evenings remarking on how knowledgeable, interesting, helpful, and responsive Mike was. Mike's equipment is very comfortable. His van holds 8 passengers, so plenty of room for just 6 of us. He has a microphone integrated to the van's speaker system so that everyone can hear. He was on time - actually early - picking us up both days. He found stuff overnight that we had lost the day before. When booking, Mike's email responses were quick and informational. We were three couples touring Normandy. We spent a day and a half with Mike, doing the American tour on Day 1 and the British tour on Day 2. All of us knew the D-Day headlines but none of the details. We learned so much on these tours. Mike brought everything to life - the plan, what worked, what didn't. All of the Plan B actions. How all of the plans were related. How both the British and the Americans build floating roads and ports way out into the ocean, one of which lasted for months (How have we never heard about this before?). Whenever we travel, we always try to find the "best" tour guide in the region. Typically, we do that based on past reviews, but also in reading between the lines - will this person be enjoyable and will that be a good fit for our group? Mike met all of our crtiteria, and even though one of our days was unseasonably cold, I am glad we went in the offseason, or Mike would not have been avaliable on short notice. We simply had two great days with Mike. I have already recommended him to three other people that have intent to visit Normandy in the future. Have you noticed that as of this moment, Mike has never recieved even a four-star review? Well, I know why, the customized tour is everything he promised and more. I highly, highly, highly recommend Allied Victory Tours. Mike, thanks for teaching us so much and for a great time. You are truly appreicated.Mike has been awesome since I booked him 2 years ago before Covid. We communicates well and is a very knowledgeable guide. Mike has been awesome since I booked him 2 years ago before Covid. We communicates well and is a very knowledgeable guide. He gives us all of the details for an amazing trip. We stayed in Paris for a few days and just took a SNCF train to Bayeux. From there, he took us to a yummy bakery and got us delicious coffee from the locals. From there, we had a wonderful and informative day about D Day. He answers all questions, takes pictures and is very patient. He accommodates special needs and is friendly. How does Mike/Allied Victory Tours have all excellent reviews for his tours? I think I can explain it in simple terms. How does Mike/Allied Victory Tours have all excellent reviews for his tours? I think I can explain it in simple terms. He listens: My boys and I didn't have a set agenda we wanted to follow. Mike asked a few questions up front about our interests and he listened. With a bit of creative license, he came up with a flexible plan that was perfect for our pace and interests. Knowledge of History and How to Present it: Mike knows his history. He also knows how to present it in a manner that keeps you interested, engaged and free to ask questions. No one wants a rambling on robot as a tour guide. Mike is not a robot. Skipped the Museums: in my opinion, museum stops on a guided tour is time wasted. A museum stop is a self paced activity and Mike knows this. He could have easily pointed us to a museum at some of our stops and had an hour or more break. That wasn't the case, We were on the road and going to sites. At the end, at our request, he recommended museums for us to visit on our free day. Important details: Pre arrival communication was perfect. He is a safe driver. Nice clean van. Bottled water provided as needed. Uses an audio headset in the van so that everyone can hear what he is saying. He is a good story teller and has a good sense of humor. It is crystal clear that he enjoys what he is doing and enjoys sharing the history of WWII and in particular the history of D-Day. I highly recommend Mike and Allied Victory Tours.
