Can wholeheartedly recommend this guided tour in the golden city. Lalu was knowledgable, funny and good company. We joined Lalu for a walk around Jaisalmer and he showed us the amazing fort and Havelis, pointing out quirky details we would not have noticed on our own and truly made history come alive for us. We traveled with two girls 10 and 12 years old, and he manager to catch their interest too, by adding stories about Indian every day life, and customs. When he picked up that the girls were discussing hennapaint he even managed to arange for them to get their hands painted. My warmest recommondationsSpent the day with Lalu. Fantastic! Spent the day with Lalu. Fantastic! Knowledgeable about his city and a warm and genuine person who treats you like family. I would never have gotten to experience the best of Jaisalmer without meeting him. He also helped me out with transfers to Jodhpur and checked in with me after to make sure I was doing fine. He has 100% 5 stars for a reason! Highest recommendation from me. Thanks Lalu!Lalu was kind enough to split the activity over two days as our flight was delayed and we would not have made it to the temples on time. On the first day Lalu showed us around town. Lalu was kind enough to split the activity over two days as our flight was delayed and we would not have made it to the temples on time. On the first day Lalu showed us around town. He did not only show us the standard Havelis, but also led us through smaller streets with wonderfully sculpted balconies and facades, before enjoying some masala tea with us. On the second day we were going to take a TukTuk to the lake, but Lalu made it evenmore fun by allowing us to travel on the back of his bike. Before returning to town to see the fort and the inspiring Jane Temples. Lalu is very knowledgeable. He can communicate very well. We mostly spoke in English, but noticed that his German is good too. He is a wonderful host willing to go the extra mile. We were so pleased with his services that we allowed him to organize a sunset desert trip for us. We would recommend Lalu to anyone visiting Jaisalmer!Four of us (my wife and two friends) spent two half-days with Lalu, touring Jaisalmer Fort and the ‘new city’. Four of us (my wife and two friends) spent two half-days with Lalu, touring Jaisalmer Fort and the ‘new city’. I have to say, Jaisalmer is probably my favorite of the many Rajasthan “forts” we saw a few weeks ago. These forts are somewhat of a cross between castles and ancient walled towns. Like Jerusalem, the fort at Jaisalmer is actually a thriving city with ~3,000 inhabitants living and doing their daily business - truly spectacular place. Lalu is a lovely person - highly knowledgeable of the local history, culture and architecture. There is no way we could have understood this place and enjoyed its many beauties without his guidance. His services are well worth the money! Our walking tour with Lalu was one of the highlights of our time in Jaisalmer. Our walking tour with Lalu was one of the highlights of our time in Jaisalmer. It was a privilege to be shown around the fort city by someone whose family has inhabited the fort for generations. Lalu's passion for Jaisalmer is evident. Everything he shares about the city and its fascinating history is interesting. He was conscientious of our time and planned each stop on our tour accordingly. Lalu excellently framed great photos of our family at each of the sites of the tour. Lalu's tour was a wonderful introduction for our time in Jaisalmer. On our recent trip to Jaisalmer we met Lalit ji (Lalu ji), our travel guide in Jaisalmer who greatly enhanced our experience in this vibrant and culturally rich region. On our recent trip to Jaisalmer we met Lalit ji (Lalu ji), our travel guide in Jaisalmer who greatly enhanced our experience in this vibrant and culturally rich region. He had not only have extensive knowledge about the local area, but he is also personable, approachable, and passionate about sharing their love for the region with others. If you are lucky enough to find a friendly travel guide in Rajasthan, you are sure to have a memorable and enriching experience. he took us to hidden gems and off-the-beaten-path destinations that you might not have otherwise discovered on your own, and can also provide valuable insights into the local culture and history. The stories & tales Laluji shared with us about the history and culture of Jaisalmer will give you a truly authentic and meaningful experience in this fascinating part of India. He also help us to navigate the local customs and traditions, making sure that we have a respectful and culturally-sensitive experience. I would Strongly recommend him if you are planning your next trip to Jaisalmer.
