We came to Iguazu to “see” the falls. But a day with Jorge changed that into “experiencing” one of the great wonders on our planet. Jorge has lived in Iguazu for over 40 years. His command of history, botany, biology, geology, earth science, weather, and knowledge of the area transformed our understanding of what we were seeing at every turn. He answered every single question we asked. And more. All in one day - crossing the border from Argentina into Brazil, Itaipu Dam, Iguazu National Park, the Bird Park, and crossing back into Argentina. Through it all, Jorge anticipated our every need. He took care of every single thing from restroom and food breaks to the best spots for great photography. But even better, his experience, knowledge and expertise opened up what we were seeing to a much broader understanding. We will be forever grateful for this memorable day! Jorge is an exceptional guide for the curious traveler.I would highly commend our private tour guide "Luiz Gabriel" from Iguassu Private Tours for providing us an excellent service during our visit in Fox do Iguacu in July 2019. I would highly commend our private tour guide "Luiz Gabriel" from Iguassu Private Tours for providing us an excellent service during our visit in Fox do Iguacu in July 2019. The tour guide was always on time and drove us in destinations in a very decent and comfortable car. Luis is very polite and knowledgeable about interesting facts about the area and the sights. We managed to skip long queues in both Argentinian and Brazilian side of the national park by booking this private tour.Edir is an excellent tour guide whom we highly recommend. Edir is an excellent tour guide whom we highly recommend. He is very reliable, honest, punctual, friendly and kind as well as having excellent knowledge of the area. He speaks perfect English and Spanish, his native language is Portuguese. He knows how to handle each situation very confidently and easily, making you feel that you’re in good hands. He has perfect knowledge of the falls, the trails, shortcuts, how to avoid crowds and he easily makes readjustments to be more efficient and not to waste time. Crossing the border was so easy with his guidence. We spent two perfect days with Edir. From the moment of being welcomed at the airport on Argentian side by a driver and having transfered to the hotel, until we’re dropped to the airport on Brasilian side by Edir, everything went very smootly. One day at Argentinean side including boat tour, half day on Brazilian side were so fulfilling and enjoyable with him. We stayed for two nights on Argentinean side. We wanted to see a show on Brasilian side one night and he made all the necessary arrangements of transfers and reservations, border crossings and so on. He well deserves ‘Certificate of Excellence’ that he has been having every year since 2013. Thanks to him to make our trip unforgettable.Edir was fantastic--we feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon his services on TripAdvisor. Edir was fantastic--we feel so fortunate to have stumbled upon his services on TripAdvisor. If you want to visit Iguazu falls, you should book Edir as fast as you can! He took us on a two-day tour. The first day was a full day on the Argentinean side of the falls and the second was a 1/2 day on the Brazilian side. He can also cover both in one day. Here are the pros and cons: PROS --Speaks excellent English --Has given over 2000 tours of the falls--knows their history and all the ins and outs --Knows how to avoid crowds --Gifted at spotting wildlife and unique plants along the walks --Includes airport transfers --Picks you up at your hotel --Effortlessly guides you through border controls between Argentina and Brazil --Incredibly fun and friendly guide --Always prepared (when the road back to Argentina was blocked by a protest, he had transportation arranged on the other side so that we could get to the airport on time) CONS --NoneI had a fantastic time in Iguazu Falls thanks to Edir. I had a fantastic time in Iguazu Falls thanks to Edir. The plan was to do a day trip on the Argentina side with the boat ride but I threw a curve ball to him that I wanted to do the helicopter ride on the Brazilian side too. Since we started early, Edir managed to squeeze that part into the day, drove me to the Brazilian side as soon as I was done with the boat ride and made it happen before the day ended (not forgetting Brazil is an hour ahead of Argentina). I’ve done both the boat ride and the helicopter ride and I’m so grateful that he made the helicopter ride possible, it made the whole experience all the difference! And I would highly recommend taking his advice to start the day early. We arrived 30 mins before the park opened at 8am and got to enjoy the Devil’s Throat with less crowd, to quietly take it all in. Totally worth waking up early for. Edir is professional, knowledgeable and you can feel his great passion for Iguazu. This is the kind of guide you want to have to show you how to appreciate this beautiful place. I highly recommend him. Thanks again Edir for the very memorable tour!We just completed a two day tour of the falls with Edir. We toured the Brazilian side on the first day and the Argentina side on the second day. We just completed a two day tour of the falls with Edir. We toured the Brazilian side on the first day and the Argentina side on the second day. I booked this time with Edir 6 months ago after reading rave reviews of him and knowing that he would be the right guide for us. I'm so glad that I did. He was very easy to communicate with during the planning stages and very helpful in answering our questions. He is a fantastic guide and was as wonderful as all the reviews had indicated. In addition, he was extremely flexible and patient in dealing with our group. We were 3 generations of the same family with ages ranging from 28 to my 85-year-old mother. We were concerned that my mother would get too tired but we knew how much she would enjoy the falls and wanted her to do as much as she could. Edir was terrific in figuring out how to make that possible and arranging for her to rest when she needed to rest. We all highly recommend Edir.
