Stop At: Ahu Akahanga, Hanga Roa, Easter Island Chile
Located on the southeast coast of the island it is considered as an emblematic place. In this place, we can understand how the village was arranged in relation to the ceremonial center or ahu. Seeing the giants on their backs and on their foreheads on the ground is a great experience.
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Rano Raraku, Easter Island Chile
This is the only volcanic cone tuff quarry existing on the island. This material allowed the construction of the moai on a larger scale. Rano Raraku houses the quarry where the moai were built and from where they were moved to the ahu (ceremonial platforms) in the island.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Ahu Tongariki, Easter Island Chile
Located opposite to Rano Raraku this is the largest platform from all of the reconstructed on the island. The ahu Tongariki is the most imposing moai platform on the island. This altar has fifteen visible standing statues overlooking the island with their backs to the Pacific Ocean
Duration: 1 hour
Stop At: Ahu Te Pito Kura, Easter Island Chile
With 11 meters long and about 90 tons weight here we find the largest moai transported from Rano Raraku: Ahu o Paro. Next to this Ahu, we find the famous rounded stone called Te Pito 'o te Henua. According to tradition, this stone was brought to the island by the ancestors.
Duration: 30 minutes
Stop At: Anakena Beach, Easter Island Chile
This beach is characterized by warm turquoise waters and coral sand. It is the main beach of the island and used to be the ancestral residence of the Miru Araki royal family. The ahu Nau Nau is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished Ahu of the island because of the refinement of its moai.

My husband and I found Kava Kava tours via TripAdvisor with their excellent reviews and completely agree with all that we have read. Booking: Booking was very easy online with quick responses to questions and easy payment via PayPal (we opted to pay in full up front). A few days before our scheduled tours, Alejandra emailed us notifying of a cruise ship coming to the island that may impact our experience with the tours and seeing if we wanted to rearrange our tours so it won’t be as hectic/busy with the increased tourists. We are so impressed with how Alejandra wanted us to have an amazing experience and planned/communicated in advance for this. Unfortunately, our flight was delayed to the island that could have affected our tour for the day and Alejandra was very quick to respond and reschedule our tours as originally planned. We are impressed with her quick responses and gave us a peace of mind during our travels. Tours and guide: We took 3 days of tours (each 6-7hr tours) with Nikolas: 1) Te Moai (sunrise tour) with bbq lunch 2) Tangata Manu, 3) Poike circuit. The cost of the tours does NOT include the national park passes as the pass helps with the maintenance/restoration of the parks. Nikolas is an excellent guide, who grew up in Rapa Nui and shared a lot of history, culture of his people, and the island. We have had many tour guides from several countries and have to say Nikolas is top notch when it comes to knowledge, professionalism, and friendliness. The #1 and #2 tours above, give a comprehensive overview of the island, which is highly recommended. Also, the Poike hike was very beautiful and not as strenuous as advertised - more moderate and we are not hardcore hikers. The bbq lunch was delicious and a perfect location after seeing the Rano Raraku quarry. Overall, great experience with Kava Kava tours and would highly recommend!
