The British ran the Halifax Citadel site as a fortress until 1906. Guests can drive up to the top of the hill and take some photos of the Old Town Clock and the downtown Halifax area from the high ground.

This is a beautiful 95-acre park. Its memorial tower was built in 1908 to commemorate 150 years of democracy. It also has beautiful trails along the ocean.

Guests can visit the final resting place of over 120 victims of the 1912 Titanic disaster. Among the victims was the unknown child, who through DNA testing has now been identified.

Granite rocks are white-washed into the ocean, left from the Ice Age 10, 000 years ago. Artists love to paint here because of the strong contrasts among the ocean, rocks and lighthouse.

We were in Halifax onboard the Oasis of the Seas. We Booked the Private tour with Stuart and BLT Limos. Stuart was right where he said he would be about 100 steps from the port exit. His vehicle is exactly as described and he greeted us with a big smile and a cold bottled water. Stuart took us all around Halifax's many neighborhoods and historical sites sharing his wealth of knowledge about the history and culture of the region. We had planned a rough idea of our itinerary in advance but Stuart is very flexible and will stop whenever you need and go wherever you want to go. It's your tour and he will take you were you want to go. We then headed to Lunenburg an old fishing village that is a UNESCO world heritage site. Again, stuarts knowledge of the area was incredible. We Then left for Peggys Cove and its iconic lighthouse. Stuart covered nearly every mile of coastline between Lunenburg and Peggys cove the panoramas were so spectacular We then headed back to Halifax and returned to the ship right at the agreed upon time. This is a very professional operation and the tour is one of the best independent tours I have ever been on. I highly recommend that you use BLT Limos and Stuart for your touring needs when in HalifaxWe were taken to a wonderful restaurant and had a delicious lobster rolls, the driver was so pleasant and polite opening the doors, parking conveniently for us to see all the sites.
