This was probably one of our favorite tours on our trip to Armenia! It’s quite a long one which is why we decided to take a private tour - and so glad we did because we had the best tour guide in Arev. She and our driver Avet were both wonderful company and kept us entertained on the long drives between our stops. If you are going to do just one tour in Armenia, let it be this one. I personally didn’t care much for the first stop at the winery (just not something I’m very interested in), however, the rest of the tour was just wonderful. Tatev Monastery was gorgeous - the views from that precariously placed compound were astonishing. Arev, our guide, sang a beautiful hymn in one of the chapels and the room’s acoustics made for a beautifully haunting melody. The Wings of Tatev were also quite the visual experience, gliding under the low-hanging clouds of that day seeing the winding roads leading down and up the mountain. We finally ended the day with the climb down winding wooden stairs to Khndzoresk Caves - this was a fun and unique adventure of its own, walking across the swinging bridge, and finding the small church hidden off the trails from the caves. If you’re looking to be a little more active on your visit to Armenia, go on a little sightseeing adventure, then this is definitely a tour to look into!We contacted Hyur because of the rave reviews in Google. We contacted Hyur because of the rave reviews in Google. The booking experience has been quite smooth. Ms.Sona is extremely efficient and has explained to us the complete aspects of various tours very clearly. The 3 days tour around Armenia was extremely delightful and informative and enjoyable, thanks to our intelligent and smart guide Hamaspyur ably supported by the drivers Avet and Hovo. Hamaspyur is extremely knowledgeable, super friendly and very helpful. Definitely would recommend using Hyur for friends visiting Armenia and will repeat with them while travelling in future. We had a private tour with Hayk (our driver) who was very pleasant to be around - he made the 4 hour drive very enjoyable as he was very personal and social. We organised a private tour based on one of the available tours on the website - going to the South of Armenia and staying one night in Goris. The Hyur staff (at our hotel - Grand Ani) were very accommodating in substituting certain activities for others and including a direct airport transfer for a small additional cost without any fuss. Special thanks to our guide, Hamas, and our driver, Artur, who were both exceptional. Hamas was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of Armenian history, culture and geography. She was extremely friendly, speaking when we wanted to get more background and knowing when to leave us in more silence. Artur was an absolute gent - we happened to bump into him in a supermarket in Goris during his time off and he assisted us in translation with various queries with supermarket staff. They were both chilled and flexible as to how long we spent at various stops. Special shout for finding a supermarket for me to buy Armenian cured meats when our flight was delayed by half an hour. I could not recommend Hyur enough and if you’re doing a private tour suggest you request Artur and Hamas.
