We were very lucky to be able to time our day trip to San Antonio de Areco with the annual festival and it really was a fascinating glimpse into the gaucho world. Seeing the parade of gauchos on their horses and then seeing the display of their skills was a really memorable experience and one of the highlights of our trip to Argentina. Bertrand and our guide Marine (who spoke very good English) treated us to a great day and I would definitely recommend using Areco Tradicion if you decide to visit this area. I couldn't comment on what the day trip would be like on a 'non festival' day but San Antonio is a lovely town and a good way to get a feel for the country outside Buenos Aires.AreconTradition is a travel agency which organizes for you different type of stay in the small and very cute town of San Antonio de Areco.
