Private walking tour of Guadalajara
Overview
I created this experience to introduce travelers to Guadalajara, the city where I was born and raised.
More than a regular tour, I'd like to provide you with a thoughtful progression through the city, with an emphasis on history, architecture and socio-political movements.
In a fun and slow-paced 3-hour walk you'll see 10+ of Guadalajara's fundamental landmarks, including: the Cathedral, the city square and the main plazas and government buildings, templo Expiatorio, Mercado Libertad (the largest indoor market in Latin America), Colonia Americana, Hospicio Cabañas, Degollado Theater, and more!
This is a fully-private experience, meaning your guide will give you exclusive attention and we'll go at your own pace, so a personalized high-quality experience is guaranteed.

This is my 2nd trip to Guadalajara. The 1st time I explored with friends without a guide. This time 3 couples decided to hire Diego for a private walking tour. The difference was amazing. I learned so much more and saw parts of the city I hadn't seen previously. Diego is a wealth of information and could answer any question. He is an expert on this city and is very familiar with everything about it from its history to its architecture. His knowledge of Mexico overall is phenomenal. He is very personable and speaks excellent English. Our entire group would highly recommend him for a private walking tour of the city. He is also able to customize tours if one is interested in specific sites or experiences. The tour gave me insights into different districts in the center. The tour gave me insights into different districts in the center. I never would have understood how these districts developed historically. Diego was a fantastic guide...... very informed and ready to answer my questions. I had many and he answered all of them. He also gave me lots of information about Mexico in general. That was so helpful because I am a newcomer in Mexico. Diego speaks fantastic English from his studies in the US, so tourists don't need to worry about language. I definitely would recommend this tour!Had a most excellent 3.5 hours seeing beautiful Guadalajara with Diego. Visited places that I doubt other tourists could find on their own. Had a most excellent 3.5 hours seeing beautiful Guadalajara with Diego. Visited places that I doubt other tourists could find on their own. Diego is very knowledgeable, personable and communicates clearly. Gave me plenty of details but I never felt overloaded with information. He was always attentive and adjusted the pace to allow me to take a ton of photos. It was an amazing tour as I learned so much from a kind man who obviously loves sharing his home town with visitors. I would hire him again for any tours that he can offer. We had a fantastic day with Diego. He has a deep knowledge base of the architectural and cultural history of the city. His respect and love for Guadalajara is contagious.

A good walking tour, in my opinion, leaves the traveler feeling a certain fondness and appreciation for the latest city they are visiting - it makes you feel that the thousands of miles traversed, the money spent, the carbon emissions spewed(!), have, arguably, been worth it. A great tour, on the other hand, does all of the above, but also leaves one feeling as if they have made a new friend in a land far away from their own - a truly special feeling. That is what I experienced after my wonderful private tour with Diego. Diego is a very welcoming, thoughtful, and gregarious young man whose passion and love for his hometown is clearly evident from the first minute of the tour. Diego provided me with outstanding context - historical, cultural, political, economic -for the various sights we saw in Guadalajara, with a special emphasis placed on the architecture of the city. Diego taught me so much about his city in 3 hours that, as a teacher myself, I felt that the price of the private tour was arguably the bargain of my weeklong stay in Mexico. I have visited over 30 countries and taken numerous walking tours on different continents, and Diego's tour easily stands as one of the best I've experienced. Make your booking before it's too late. And, once again: gracias, Diego, for a memorable afternoon. Take care, mi amigo.Diego is friendly, welcoming and engaging. Diego is friendly, welcoming and engaging. He really understands the history of Guadalajara and it is obvious that he is proud of his wonderful home city. We followed his recommendation for lunch and also for dinner and we could not be happier with his choices. A walking tour with a local resident is always the best way to experience a new city. I highly recommend seeing Guadalajara with Diego. 5/5.
