Kaikoura's Original Kayak Operator - Est 1998
Experience the excitement of watching Fur Seals ducking, weaving and diving around your kayak on a private tour with Kaikoura Kayaks.
Paddle gently along with them as they swim around the Kaikoura Peninsula hunting for their favourite feed of Octopus.
But be sure to keep your distance as they devour their delicious dinner in front of you, then watch in amazement as hundreds of Pelagic (ocean going) birds swoop in to clean up the tasty left-overs.
This adventure around the beautiful coastal waters takes in the breath-taking views of sheer cliff faces, craggy rocks and mountain ranges while searching for chance encounters with Dusky Dolphins and Blue Penguins.
This fun tour is suitable for all ages and abilities while operating year round and doesn't require any previous kayaking experience.
These professionally guided kayaking expeditions adhere to the highest of safety standards.
Our 3 - 3.5hr Wildlife Kayaking tours are one of the most popular activity tours in Kaikoura.

May the force be with you guysSaw lots of seals, but that wasn't too unusual. What really set this apart was the best customer service from Emma. Our ship was late docking due to fog but Matt worked extremely hard to accommodate us in a different time slot. Our ship didn't offer private kayaking, only a group one which we didn't want as we didn't want to be slowed down. Matt understood this and provided this private tour for us. Ru was highly experienced and patient and took us further afield than a group could go due to there only being two of us in one kayak and this was the experience we had hoped for. As a result we were lucky enough to see a seal feeding on octopus, some blue penguins and a sting ray all very close up, as well as many seals in and out of the water and lots of bird varieties. I highly recommend Kaikōura Kayaks and this private tour. Great people, fab day!An all-round great experience! Was a beautiful day; Emma our guide was lovely and helpful. Seeing the fur seals up close was awesome, unfortunately we weren't lucky enough to see any dolphins or whales but that just means we will have to come back again!
