The cable car and city tour were great. Our tour guide was good and made good conservation. The cable car and park was beautiful. The city tour was good seeing the historic buildings. The rum and chocolate tours were good. Rum tour only costs $4 to go and del oro tour was free. Only noticed that when we were there, so we could of taken a taxi there for less. Overall the tour was good, but i might be over priced for what it actually costs being there. If you do nothing else in Puerta Plata make sure you do this. If you do nothing else in Puerta Plata make sure you do this. As there was 7 of us, I opted for the private tour. I wish I could remember their names, but they were fantastic, knowledgeable, and helpful. I needed something from a grocery/pharmacy store; they stopped at two of them so I could get what I needed. They were always willing to pull over so we could take pictures. They explained the statues in the bay, and took a couple of group pictures of us.I highly recommend to book this excursion! Our tour guide was stupendous! We hit every spot in the city that was listed on the itinerary, and also others that weren’t. He offered to take pictures throughout the trip, and was very kind. I would totally do this all over again!

We had a great time and Saul was an amazing guide. Maximo was the best driver. You see a lot of things. It is well worth the money. Lunch was amazing. My husband loved the rum. It was a little strong for me. I like to mix my rum, or at least have a chaser. Loved the chocolate factory. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because we weren’t prepared for the top of the cable car. We got off the cable car and head to the gardens, but wanted to use the bathroom first. There are people just sitting there waiting for you to come up there, so they can sell you things. Even saying no thank you didn’t work. This guy followed us to the bathroom and waited for us to come out and took us over to his shop. He kept saying he wasn’t trying to be pushy, but he would not leave us alone. We did buy a couple of things, because I had lost my sunglasses the day before. He followed us outside and wanted to take our picture in front of the Jesus statue. We said no and walked away. I don’t like to be rude, but we only had 30 minutes to look around and he cost us half of that.Really enjoyed our private tour of Puerto Plata! We had tour guide Antonio and he was great! Really enjoyed our private tour of Puerto Plata! We had tour guide Antonio and he was great! He stayed with us the entire time and showed us all the highlights. The food was amazing. Be sure to take plenty of small bills for tips to the vendors and other guides at the various stops. There are lots of opportunities for purchases and tips but we enjoyed the various stops. Antonio had us back to the cruise terminal in plenty of time. Just a recommendation-tell them you want to be back like an hour before your ship leaves in case of any traffic delays. Then you will also have time to explore the beautiful port of Amber Cove before you embark (we were on a Carnival Cruise.)Antonio was amazing. He was very knowledgeable of the area and was able to explain answers to all of our questions. Would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area.
